Dr. Dave, I think he's saying he bought it because of the lifetime warranty, had a leak after a year, and they told him to find the hole, and he/she is upset. However, why else would a liner leak besides a hole? And, if you planned to have it replaced, that means taking your pond down, draining it and replacing the liner. If you do that, it's far easier to find the hole and repair it than replace the whole thing! It's the old adage .... if it sounds too good to be true, it IS!
Now, back to my thread. :)

Yesterday and today it was really hot and humid, but I was determined to get the bog reworked with PVC. I got a late start, as could not get the PVC until noon, but here are some pics of the job.
First I removed the plants and pea gravel, then drained most of the water out.
Bog emptied out, ready to drain yucky water rest of the way.JPGPlants waiting to be put back in koi bog.JPGPlants waiting to go back into bog.JPG
Then I cut and glued the plumbing for the bog. The black sewer flexible pipe I had used kept working it's way to the top. PVC should stay put at the bottom.

The water was really yucky and sometimes black. I figure part of that was that I planted everything in the pots they came in, not bare root. So the second reason for replumbing the bog was to remove all of the pots and dirt, and replacing plants bare root. I'm hoping for a much cleaner bog, especially since the pipe will stay under the roots. Here's the finished product. Still need little bit more pea gravel, but 98% done. Whew!!!

And, had to show you my lilies blooming so pretty around noon today!

After getting this done at dusk (see the underwater lights under the waterfall?!) I figured I earned some AC and slushie drinks this evening. House was 84 degrees, so kicked on the AC for a couple of hours. Ahhhhhhh.....

My lilies were all but one plant bought at Menards, and I got them half off, so $5 each. This spring I divided them and had more than enough for my pond and others! I now have several varieties of the mini lilies, so am anxious to see their little blooms! I got a tropical lily when I ordered a Golden Club plant off of Ebay (it looked very unusual, so wanted to try one, and it's hardy). Turns out it must be a mini, as the leaves are VERY tiny! It's a Miami Rose, and the leaves so far are mottled dark red spots on very light colored leaves. Maybe they will change to green as they grow, not sure. And, the minis Addy sent to me have beautiful leaves as well, speckled. All are growing well, and I need to remember to get more plant spikes or tablets for them all. I had one lily that was supposed to be dark red, but I think that was the one plant that never grew from Menards. I may look for another this year, just to see if it actually does have a dark red bloom, get it as soon as they put them on sale, before people go in there and open the bags and let them get all dried out and then no one wants them. :-(

OK, I know I've been posting pics of my lilies, but this one this morning was exceptional, and I must say probably the best pic I've taken, or the lily was just so soft and pretty looking. There are others in the multi picture that were blooming yesterday, but this pale pink with pink and yellow center did not open until today. It's my favorite so far!

Well, mine had buds at the surface for probably 2 weeks before I put just one fertilizer tab in them, and then within 3 days they were blooming .... course the weather turned warm again and I'm sure that also helped.

Your lilies look so pretty! I wonder if what I have is a mini, didn't know there was such a thing.

Jen, I got some from Addy, and she said they are minis, and the leaves are about 2-3" across. I also ordered a tropical lily, and it was not a bulb, but rather a cutting or something like that, anyhow very small. It has teeny tiny leaves, at most 1" across. But I looked up that tropical lily and the leaves are normal size, so this one is just very immature. So, if you have a lily that does not have much of a tuber yet, or was grown from seed (can they be grown from seed?), then it may be just very immature and will get bigger each year it grows. I'm wondering if my tropical will be full size by the end of this year, but have no idea as it is my first one. :) I think most sellers sell tubers, but this one is something different.

I added some lily pics to my pond post. The leaves are very small right now and I seem to remember them getting at least twice as big as they are now last year. I'm not sure what counts as an infant plant, but I was given this lily last year, and i did not divide it this year, just repotted it. I probably could have cut it into 3-4 new plants though. You can see in the pics on my thread that it's leaves are a lot smaller right now then the new one I got today. Maybe it is a mini then....

Yours really are so pretty! I'm jealous....someday...

CE the mini lily refers more to the size it grows i.e. it can handle a small body of water, some of my lilies spread out 6 plus feet, that small one takes up around 3 feet with dark pink flowers.

Ohhhh .... so the leaves are not necessarily mini, just the size that the plant grows! Thanks for clarifying that, Addy. The leaves so far are much smaller, too, but maybe as the weather warms and they grow, the leaves will be larger then.
Jenn, I'm sure your lilies will get larger leaves, too. All of mine had the beautiful burgandy leaves in the beginning, and they are still mottled burgandy and green, but will all turn green in time, like they were last year, I'm sure. And, maybe it has to do with the amount of sunlight, and this year everything got going so much earlier than normal, and when the days are longer, they will get back to normal size. :)

Oh, I get it too! Guess I will just have to wait and see what happens. Hope I get some blooms from it this year then maybe I can figure out what kind it is!
