I ruined my mothers old cast iron pans using them camping, then using beach sand to clean them.:( Never the same, and never again.

I still have my grandmoms ,she got it from her mom and when grandmom past away my mom got the set and when my mom past away I took the set .It is heavy but worth the weight .The threat of being hit with a cast iron pan makes any man be good or he better run for his life .I sure wish they made those covers on that one to fit my handles .

I did make some one time but they can slip off when you lift the pan or cause the pan to turn sideways and that is not good .I would love one that you would not have to worry about putting in the oven .I make a lot cornbread and people like it warm .The pans are great for making monkey bread also and biscuits always taste better made in a cast iron pan
