Wonder how mogsie is doing .I miss him .I was just looking at youtube video's of abandoned hospitals the U.S and amazed at the stuff still in them and there are over 20 of them and we tax payers can pay up to 5 hundred thousand dollars to keep them up and keep electric on and to maintain and provide security for them .Why are we wasting all this money because the government does not care

Um ... move to Illinois! We don't have a State budget, so vendors are shutting the State off. Pitney Bowes said "no more" to our postage machines back in November (budget was due in July, so our State has not had a budget since then, and lots of things are not getting paid at all!!!) and so we have literally run out of postage. We got 500 envelopes with 1 ounce of postage on them in December, and were told what we can and cannot use them for. We file cases with the Court, we HAVE to mail notices to the parties. Pretty soon, those child support and paternity cases will not be able to be filed. We figured they would pass a budget in Jan. Now they are saying maybe after the primary elections, some say not until after the elections in November! Yikes, I fear for my job and my paycheck. It's not good, not good at all. Office Depot was the last vendor to shut us off as a State agency. I don't blame any of them! We are buying our own bottled water (which is perfectly fine with us!!!) because I'm afraid to ask our local vendor to bring more refill bottles! We are getting it for $1 for 5 gallons, and they charge us the going rate of about $8 per 5 gallons, but we can't have the cooler stand unless we buy their water. Hoping they don't figure out we are buying our own water! I heard with all the State buildings in Springfield, our State's Capital city, the State owes that city over 10 million in utilities! yep, it's really really bad here. :(

how sad is this

Sissy,

there are hospital buildings in the UK that have been refurbished, completely refitted, new wiring, lighting, plumbing, decoration, equipment, etc. that have then been mothballed and not used for years.
The basic problem is poor communication at senior management level. So the Estates team refurbish an area, unaware that the Clinical Team have decided they don't need the space, or don't actually have the budget to staff it.

OMG, how in the world do animals figure stuff like that out?!
Congrats to your mom, Mitch! I suspect hip replacement is something we may all experience in our futures, so it's nice to hear great results in such short order!
I have no idea why I have been gone for so long! I sure missed everyone. What has happened in the last couple of months that I need to catch up on? Got the newsletter via e-mail. Neat!

Thanks, CE. I was amazed at the fact that her pre-operation pain was gone immediately. The whole post op period she went with almost no painkillers at all.
Amazing when you think about it.
Welcome back, btw.(y)

I agree, T! After having an older sister who is somewhat "needy" when it comes to pain meds, and a SIL who is dying because of being addicted to them for the last 10 years (she's only 55!!!), I am thankful my daughter is like me, and barely took any pain meds after the birth of her daughter. They are necessary at times, but other times, you just need to work through the pain and move on. Your mother is an amazing woman, IMO, Mitch! I want to be just like her! :)

Well I have been depressed lately and in need of a good sun tan. I miss the hot sunny days soaking up sun by my ponds. I am sure spring is on the way and a good thing cause I really need it. ...
I think I am in shock and grieving for what's happening to Europe right now. Seen too much of the migrant mess on U tube. It's shocking! Sad that we Christians are the new "Jew" and being wiped out in Africa and middle east. It's a very sad world out there for sure. But there is always hope that Russian will save us! Ya I know how that sounds but at least in Russia you can still say Merry Christmas and sing Christian songs. In Toronto the city tried to ban ChristIan songs.. media reports very little of what is really going on...
Spring at least is still something that can't be stopped or changed. God controls that!

same thing here even store employees can be fired for saying Merry Christmas and now even Happy Easter is not allowed to be said by employees .
