Um ... move to Illinois! We don't have a State budget, so vendors are shutting the State off. Pitney Bowes said "no more" to our postage machines back in November (budget was due in July, so our State has not had a budget since then, and lots of things are not getting paid at all!!!) and so we have literally run out of postage. We got 500 envelopes with 1 ounce of postage on them in December, and were told what we can and cannot use them for. We file cases with the Court, we HAVE to mail notices to the parties. Pretty soon, those child support and paternity cases will not be able to be filed. We figured they would pass a budget in Jan. Now they are saying maybe after the primary elections, some say not until after the elections in November! Yikes, I fear for my job and my paycheck. It's not good, not good at all. Office Depot was the last vendor to shut us off as a State agency. I don't blame any of them! We are buying our own bottled water (which is perfectly fine with us!!!) because I'm afraid to ask our local vendor to bring more refill bottles! We are getting it for $1 for 5 gallons, and they charge us the going rate of about $8 per 5 gallons, but we can't have the cooler stand unless we buy their water. Hoping they don't figure out we are buying our own water! I heard with all the State buildings in Springfield, our State's Capital city, the State owes that city over 10 million in utilities! yep, it's really really bad here.
