Hey that was cool sissy. Wonder if well water has any salt in it? Guess it depends on the well.I'll have to look ours up.

I tested ours and all it has is iron in it .I used a salt meter I got for christmas .Rosemary his client has a rock shaped like California and I have one shaped like NJ .He loved the pics I sent of the mountains here

We have a water test report around here somewhere I could look at. Just have to find it. We also have lots of iron and I think calcium also.
I remember your NJ shaped rock you posted.

They do a test once a year here for free and if you want a really better test you have to pay 5 dollars more .They just test for bacteria for free and minerals .You can also buy a home test kit from them for 10 dollars and it has 2 tests in it .We don't have calcium in ours .I would get a build up of white stuff on faucets and stuff if I did

just ordered my stuff from pet solutions .I needed bacteria .I just got 2 - 5 gallon containers of activated charcoal for 10 dollars each from a guy here again .I hope he never stops selling it .My son picked it up for me since i was here waiting for insurance guy to call.He gave me free a 2 lb tub of zeolite this time and last time he gave me 2 bags of treats for the fish .I thought it was a great price for activated charcoal ,you just have to go and pick it up at his house .

Sissy, What do you use the activated charcoal for?

I have always used it in my filters to keep water clear .I also add a bag of crushed oyster shells and zeolite in there .It has always helped (at least in my opinion ) to keep the water clear .I am starting all over with a new pond and my old pond was well established but this one isn't .When the leak started in my pond last Feb. I was adding water everyday until I could rebuild .So really even though I reused my pond water it was not really pond water ,it was mostly my well water and that has a lot of iron in it .

I remember reading about crushed oyster shells, is it used to soften the water? I've been doing some research on filters this evening.

It stabilizes ph also .I buy it at tractor supply it is used to harden eggshells .

I use them to harden my water, that is what I have read they help with. Our well water is very soft, very acidic. I put in 100 lbs every spring to help increase the hardness. They help keep the pond water around a hardness of 100. Our well reads down in the 20 or nothing range. My ph has managed to stabilize in the 7.6 ranges, well sits at 5.4 rain in the 5.x range.

Spring has sprung, the birds are singing and some of my early bulbs are coming up along the warm side of the house! So happy and thankful winter was short for sweet chubby babe Rio! My little Peanut is going to get a hug cause she is so darn sweet! No Pee Pee pads here anymore, honey child is a big girl now!!

I really had bad case of impulse buying today!!! Today I was out having burger and salad with my mom, and then after supper I drove straight to Future Shop aND bought this real big 55 inch Curved Sam Sung Smart 3D and everything TV For our Happy Anniversary!!!

Wow is all I can say!!! Picture so crisp aND clear and now I see things that were not visible before on old 42 inch flat screen!

Way to go! Happy for you! Our 6th anniversary is coming up on Saturday...........still waiting (well not waiting) for our first fight, not going to happen we get along too good.

well happy anniversary to you and hubby Colleen and happy soon to be anniversary to you and your hubby addy .Hubby and I just had our 42 anniversary in Feb .Nice present Colleen that you and hubby will enjoy .I just found out consumer cellular upgraded all there monthly stuff and I get more a month at no extra costs .2 phones and only 34 dollars a month with my aarp discount .Better than the 119 dollars with ntelos for minutes i never used .

I just want hubby to be happy and enjoy life. He deserves to be happy after all his hard work and survivor of cancer. I think that is also why I work extra hard in garden last couple years, he gives me incentive to make things nice for him to relax.
