Well, after about two weeks of running the filters on the pond, the pea soup is clearing up nicely. All by itself, no pond remrdies, no nothing. I DID add five water hyacinths, but that's it. Two days ago I could only see the fish right at the surface, now I can see the bottom (2'). Same story every spring! :)

Thank you, to all, spoken and unspoken. The neurosurgeon seems more hopeful today. She is responding well to the weaning of the blood pressure meds. And she moved her left arm to swat away the nurses messing with her tubes. So we are are hopeful :) Once she's more stable, they will take her in to repair her jaws and sinuses, and the hopefully she can be weaned off intubation. Jedbots ( my cousin ) faith has seriously been shaken. My heart aches for him, he just found her and they have a 16 mo little girl. I wish I could take it all from him.....

Wendy glad to hear she is doing better and hope she continues to heal more and more each day.

Prayers for your cousin's wife, Wendy! Yes, prayers are very powerful, and more the better! Medicine is so amazing these days, and she sounds like she is responding very well. I remember my daughter being intubated after her 4-wheeler accident. The look in her eyes with the question "when will they remove it???" hurt me to see, but we had to stay positive and smile and tell her it was alright, and she would get it out soon. She remembered her sign language, and my sister was there when she started signing, and they were communicating that way! It takes a long time to heal those type of wounds, but praying it all goes very well and continues to do so for her!
And, Sissy, I stand corrected, and reading what everyone has written, I agree, fly whatever flag you prefer! You go girl!

This is funny! Must read.
Miss Beatrice, the church organist, was in her eighties and had never been married. She was admired for sweetness and kindness to all.... One afternoon the pastor came to call on her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room. She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea.
As he sat facing her old pump organ, the young minister noticed a cut-glass bowl sitting on top of it. The bowl was filled with water. In the water floated, of all things, a condom! When she returned with tea and scones, they began to chat. The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and he could no longer resist. "Miss Beatrice", he said, "I wonder if you would tell me about this?" pointing to the bowl. "Oh, yes" she replied, "isn't it wonderful?
I was walking through the park a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground. The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease. Do you know I haven't had the flu all winter!" The pastor fainted

Thank you CE, JW and everyone for your prayers, they are weaning her off the sedation today and we are now waiting for her to wake up. Cuz is dealing a bit better, but he is still worried, but I got him to go take a run around the state hospital park down the street to help clear his head, seems to have worked for now.
When she wakes up and is stable, they will start the re construction of her poor face. Both jaw bones are broken, the roof of her mouth and the bone where her front teeth were are also broken. But the swelling on her brain is staying down and that is a very good sign. So the power of prayer and the almighty one are on our side, and His mercy and grace is with her.

Bet it came as an infant on plants, or maybe from a bird or other predator. You haven't had any predators, though, have you? I think it would be cool to have a crawdad! I have them around my yard, they dig holes and leave tall mud towers, but never have seen one in the pond. Not sure they would hurt anything, unless they are big, and then may try to take a swipe at the fish.

Thank you haver :) she is moving more and opens her eye ( the other was damaged in the accident ) when we talk to her, but still no evidence she knows who we are.
CE no, no predators, lots of birds visit though. Unless one of the cats caught it and brought it up to the pond.
