So Cathy asks our Masters Degree daughter-in-law what we are having for the family Christmas Eve luncheon. She replies "that meat stuff covered in brown gravy that you put on white rice". God bless her. Wonderful mother to our grandchildren, wife to our son and outstanding assistant school principal. Cook, not so much. :)

tell her to go a bit more healthy, and make it brown rice.. it's complex carbs (slow carbs) so no blood sugar spike. much lower glycemic index.

The dish is pork fing stew. Pork fingers are linear sections of Boston butt roast rubbed with Cajun seasoning, braised then cooked in roux along with quartered potatoes, onions and additiong Cajun seasonings to taste. The white rice is steamed long grain American. This Cajun down home country entree is oh so flavorful, rich and hardy. Brown rice would be a good substitute if necessary. For those who do not know, Cajun seasoning does not automatically mean "hot". There are many variations. We prefer very flavorful with just a gentle touch of heat. It takes experience to get the balance correct. :)

Mark, I forgot to say you really do provide great information. It is true that I sometimes turn a blind eye to your messages but I tell you with all sincerity to stay true to your beliefs. Speak out as you feel the need. As a side note, my daughter is highly involved in the anti-Mosanto agriculture movement.

I am originally from deep rural South Alabama. Chemical plants line the rivers near my childhood country home. My father used DDT in our garden. Only God knows what was in local farm crops, our water and air. Father died of heart disease at 44. Mother of cancer at 54. Sister of cancer at 47. Brother of cancer at 65. Oldest brother has heart disease at 72. Beginning at 48 I was diagnosed with one neurological disease. Now at 60 I have two. Over the next few months I may be diagnosed with a third.

Thank you for caring so much about our health, food and environment.

Wow Lou makes one wonder if some of that chemical stuff didn't get into your families lives and create a bunch of bad problems for them all. Hope you enjoy a longer life and your kids and grandkids are not effected by anything to do w/ it at all.

I'm sorry but ....
it is impossible to see the same card in both sets.
the first set contains ... in order...
King of clubs... jack of clubs...king of spades (top row)
queen of diamonds... queen of clubs... jack of diamonds (bottom row)

the second set has... in order..
blank spot... queen of hearts...king of clubs (top row)
jack of hearts...queen of spades...king of diamonds.(bottom row)

this is a video..it doesnt change. 11 of the 12 available facecards are used...6 in the first set, 5 others in the second. its not majic. its not mind reading...its a simple switching of cards.
