Believe it or not, when the Maytag washer "inherited" with my house 4 years ago started leaking, I spent about $200 to repair it. The repair guy said I would have it for the rest of my life. He replaced all the seals and the leak, everything that may go bad in the future, or so he said. I know, it was his business to repair, but the set I inherited was EXACTLY the same set I had when married, and only problem we had with that set was a new motor or whatever it's called for the dryer. Heating element, that's what it was. And, that was in 25 years! I love the set, dries clothes with no wrinkles, cools down, etc. NOthing like the new fancy ones. But, people I know that got the new front loads had them maybe 5 years and were replacing them, something went bad. No wonder our land fills are filling up!!!
