Trying to decide whether to DIY repair our deck or wait a year and have it professionally rebuilt. Leaning toward the DIY repair so there's funds to unyuckize back of house wall and garage door. Mutually decided to repaint little deck and wooden walkways. They will be the same color as the main deck floor..

You guys can really make me laugh sometimes!! Takes my mind off other stress full things in life....
I like all of you people and think people of all faith are all beautiful, and have many friends of many different faiths and I love how they are dedicated to what they believe, and if what they believe makes their life happy, then the happiness rubs off on me. I have to work Christians, Catholics, and Muslems, and we all get together for drinks and baby showers and just a good time. The Muslem women have to fast during the day during Ramadan and that is really hard when you work in a BAKERY!! We all have a good time and we all get along very well, because we all respect each other's faith.

To Whom It May Concern,

I was raised as a "Methodist". My grandfather and half Jewish grandmother were "Antioch Hardshell Baptists". My favorite cousin was an "Atheist". My oldest brother is a "Church of God" ex-minister. My wife was raised as a "Roman Catholic" then became a "Southern Baptist" as an adult. I became a "Southern Baptist" after getting married. After moving to Texas our family converted to "United Methodist". We stopped going to church when I became, at that point in time, grievely ill and was unable to physically attend services. We were removed from the roles in the "United Methodist" church when we were notifed we had not attended the requisite number of services. Our grown children and their families go to a really great new age independent church complete with a rock band inwhich both my son and son-in-law play. After telling the dyed in the wool Texas lady who has taken care of our hair for the past twenty-two years and goes to "The Cowboy Church" that I am part Jewish she assumed we converted to "Judaism".

Every word that I have written is the absolute truth so I respectfully ask that there be no further posts that sort of, semi or straight out belittle, argue about or discuss the right or wrongs of ANY faith. Think about it this way. You never know who is in your audience nor their religion or lack thereof.

Give faith, love and peace a chance.

I sure do think tho that we should be able to post a siggy that says God is Love or something of that nature if that's what we believe in. Other than that if someone felt the need to talk to someone about anything further it could be done in a pm. I don't like the way the world is headed to a Godless society of people not believing in anything but themselves or just their own families. Religion is not the important part. Shouldn't we all care about what happens to each other at the end of ours and their lives too? What if you knew the cure for cancer and you kept it to yourself? Sorry if I have offended anyone but I speak from my heart and don't wish to hurt anyone by my words.

Christianity is not a religion. its a set of beliefs. many religions are christian. the difference between most of them are merely traditions. and those are merely the traditions of the church. the bible says profess your faith. and as a christian it is an honor to profess mine. jesus said "deny me to men and i shall deny you to my father".he also said "no man comes to the father but by me", everyone worries more about offending others, than they do God. maybe i will start a "CHRISTIAN BANTER" thread so we may chat freely. and if anyone fears being offended...dont visit the thread.
myself, i respect the jewish faith.it built the foundations for the christian faith without the jews there woiuld be no christianity. Yeshua (jesus) himself was a jew.
myself, i am a nondemoninational Christian.

A F/B CUT AND PASTE...

This is worth reading and thinking about. Pay attention to your next Social Security income, whether you get a check or an electronic deposit....note what it is... now called...see below.. Have you noticed, your Social Security check is now referred to as a "Federal Benefit Payment"? I'll be part of the one percent to forward this. I am forwarding it because it touches a nerve in me, and I hope it will in you. Please keep passing it on until everyone in our country has read it. The government is now referring to our Social Security checks as a “Federal Benefit Payment.”This isn’t a benefit – its earned income! Not only did we all contribute to Social Security but our employers did too.It totaled 15% of our income before taxes. If you averaged $30K per year over your working life, that's close to $180,000 invested in Social Security. If you calculate the future value of your monthly investment in social security ($375/month, including both you and your employer’s contributions) at a meager 1% interest rate compounded monthly, after 40 years of working you'd have more than $1.3+ million dollars saved! This is your personal investment.Upon retirement, if you took out only 3% per year, you'd receive $39,318 per year, or $3,277 per month. That’s almost three times more than today’s average Social Security benefit of $1,230 per month, according to the Social Security Administration (Google it - it’s a fact).

And your retirement fund would last more than 33 years (until you're 98 if you retire at age 65)!I can only imagine how much better most average-income people could live in retirement if our government had just invested our money in low-risk interest-earning accounts.Instead, the folks in Washington pulled off a bigger Ponzi scheme than Bernie Madoff ever did. They took our money and used it elsewhere. They “forgot” that it was OUR
money they were taking. They didn’t have a referendum to ask us if we wanted to lend the money to them. And they didn’t pay interest on the debt they assumed. And recently, they’ve told us that the money won’t support us for very much longer. But is it our fault they misused our investments? And now, to add insult to injury, they’re calling it a “benefit,” as if we never worked to earn every penny of it. Just because they “borrowed” the money, doesn't mean that our investments were a charity!

Let’s take a stand. We have earned our right to Social Security and Medicare. Demand that our legislators bring some sense into our government –Find a way to keep Social Security and Medicare going, for the sake of that 92% of our population who need

My intent was not to prevent anyone from expressing words of faith, simply to prevent religious based arguments before they have a chance to start. Apologies to all especially given I have referred to God numerous times.
I think it would be interesting to talk about god without the coloring imposed by any specific religion. Strip away the dogma built up over time and start with as little bias as possible.
