While I was at my sister's in AZ, after her knee surgery, her skimmer (it's not the normal skimmer, she has a tube in the middle of her pond with a sleeve that floats on the water, sucks water/leaves, etc. in from the top) floated to the top. So, we fixed it ... we thought. When it happened for the 3rd time in 24 hours, she freaked out, called her "koi guy". Then Kwon and I realized how her pond had been plumbed! She has a submersible pump with HARD plumbing to it! I asked how she takes the pump out to clean it. "I don't, I just swish it off with my toes when I go in to clean." REALLY????? Here I am, in my 3rd year, learned everything I know from this Forum, and she has had ponds for 10 years or more, and I'm teaching her. OMG. She is still telling me thanks for going into her pond to help repair it. The water was 62 degrees. Now, that's dedication ... or is it stupidity? Well, if you knew what I went through with my bossy, demanding, commando sister all last week, you would understand I HAD to go into the pond, to have some peace that evening. LOL Life is so wonderful in my small town, rural community. Never been so happy to be home from "vacation" in all my life. Thank you, all my ponder friends, for teaching me how to create my ponds! You're all the best teachers, and I truly appreciate learning how from the best.
