That is cute Sissy! love it!

No kidding koiguy. I have a few "assault" rifles I may unload soon. The governor here is talking of banning them. Md has some sucky gun laws esp compared to Az where I lived for so long.

Maybe a silly question but I will ask anyway. What is the advantage of logging off after each session?
I don't know why, but if I try to stay logged in, after a few hours of inactivity I find myself logged off automatically.

You mean you have to sign in w/ name and password each time John? Maybe you have your settings on your computer set to clear your cache after a certain while or maybe settings in the forum. Oh well not a big deal unless you're senile...........in that case we will be understanding towards you John like we always have been

I photographed this land and water habitat snake as it swam from a fresh water sail boat harbor to a dock. A park ranger estimated its length.

Your challenge is to identify this snake and estimate its length.

Here are three clues:
  1. a nonvenomous snake found in the United States, primarily within the state of Texas, but its range extends into Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma
  2. docks and harbors are good homes for this snakes primary prey
  3. estimate its length by comparing it to another object in the photo

Haven't a clue on what kind of snake that is Lou except maybe a sneaky snake and as for the gator, I always feel sorry for any of the poor critters that end up dead cuz they end up in the wrong place at the wrong time  He will make a lot of nice shoes, belts and purses tho

Southern Water Snake, length about 6'. Somewhat darker than the norm, but the only one I could come up with.

I hear that boa constrictor snakes live down south too? Is this true?

I believe you are thinking about pythons in South Florida. Here is part of an article about those pythons.

"Florida’s invasive reptile and amphibian crisis is the world’s worst, according to the statement. Burmese pythons are known to feed on large animals, including alligators and deer.

A 17-foot-7-inch Burmese python found in the Florida Everglades set a state record for both its size and the 87 eggs the snake was carrying, according to an official at the national park.

The 164.5 pound (74.6 kilogram) serpent was found, tagged and released in March as a part of a program to study invasive species in the Everglades. Scientists at the Florida Museum of Natural History on the University of Florida’s Gainesville campus recaptured the python in April, euthanized it and discovered the eggs during a necropsy last week, said Linda Friar, public information officer for Everglades National Park."
