Well just read the local paper, downtown comercial lots are largely vacant. Shops are there one day, then closed the next! Starting to look like downtown "ghost town". Even the malls are dead! Things are looking scary these days! Even where I work, they expect two people to do the job of four people! They have to give us our breaks cause were union, but the supervisors and managers are not unIon, so they really have to work hard with no breaks for long hours to get job done. Then they are all stressed to the max cause their over worked, but what can they do, at least they still have a job! Next door the poor guy has not had a real job for years, now he goes to school mostly.

Quite a few houses for sale around our hood right now. Not selling either. Some are foreclosures. Sad times and things might not be looking so good for the near future I hear. Crops hit hard back in the mid-west and food, gas and everything else going up in price and not the wages, and people can't find jobs. Crazy weather, nuttier people roaming the streets, snatching, grabbing, killing and all. Whoa aren't I the bearer of doom and gloom this morning? Cheer up all as it can only get better.................or can it get worse? I think it can  It is all part of a bigger plan tho so all will work out in the end...........keep looking up :sun_smiley:

the housing market is a mess here in uk also, there is a need for homes, but people dont have the money to get onto the property ladder, my aunt baught her house, ( a 3 story, georgian town house, with large garden) for £250 thousand, few years later all the kids moved out and got their own place, so they wanted to sell the house and buy something smaller, so they put the house on the market at reduced price of £175 thousand hoping for a quick sale, but people where still asking for another £15 thousand off, so they have decided just to stay there and keep it rarther than lose so much money!,
they are still building new builds in my area, one developer has started a very large project, which is a mix of small affordable homes and large expensive homes, so maybe they know something we dont !!

We have places we rent out, right now if one empties it is usually rented within a week. Rental market is hot, mainly because all those that walked from their houses are now renters. Banks won't loan to them.
Rent rates increasing a lot too, we keep ours reasonable, no reason to smack people even more. As long as the rent pays the expenses plus a little we are happy.

I'm not even going to turn the news on today, going outside to work in garden, news just stresses me out anyway!
I just want to know one thing, what causes a young, otherwise healthy white adult male, to go on a "shooting rampage"?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't all the shooters that go on rampages been young, white, and in school or college?
They all seem to fit a certain profile do they? We need to address this issue and find a way to stop this stuff. Maybe we need better gun control, maybe we need more social intervention for young lonely men, maybe they need to fit in more and we need to not outcast so many that we dislike cause there different. Most of these young men are later found to be social outcasts, no friends, no social life. Do we teach our children to bully and pick on those who think or look different? What's wrong with us in this world anyway? Too much greed on wall street, no jobs for young men, a sick perveted society that allows bad things to be viewed on line, maybe we need to get back to the good old days , when family's were stronger, community's were "tight nit" and only one member of the family needed to work, while the other made a happy home and raised the children.

I eat less sugar than most people, and I never have pop or juice, too sweet for my taste. No sugar in my coffee of tea. I will only eat a small piece of cake on a special day only, and only if it is made with real butter or cream. The chocolate that I eat is very dark and less that 10 grams of sugar which is far less than juice. I eat only high fat double churned ice cream, cause it tastes better and has less sugar! The ice cream I eat is usually maple walnut or vanilla, and it usually has between 12 grams or 15 grams of sugar per serving, again far less than juice. I eat the high fat cause it has less sugar to begin with. When you switch to low fat dairy, you are just getting more sugar. The sugar in low fat dairy comes from milk, which has a sugar called "lactose" , kinda of like fruitose is from fruit, glucose is from grain, lactose is from milk. I cannot eat lactose cause I get sick, that is why I get the double churned heavy cream style icecream, and hence the less sugar. When you choose low fat dairy, you get more sugar, cause they switch the cream for the millk, same with cheese. Most people don't know that. so when I indulge my depression with high fat icecream, I don't need to eat a ton cause the high fat fills you up fast and will leave you full for hours. If I crave a sugar fix, I well eat a fresh piece of fruit and get my sugar that way. I could live on watermellon and cheese sometimes. Did you know if you eat a lot of watermellon you won't sunburn, and watermellon is very good for you, and it tastes better if you eat the ones with big black seeds, which I also eat too! :) :) :)
