There is a small plant farm in NC that sells to wholesellers and they have leftover plant sales or what they call curbside sales .I love it when they have them as you can get some real bargains .They had 10 foot red maple trees for 5 dollars and he was telling me he is going to have a fruit tree blow out next month all fruit trees are going to be 5 dollars .He is going to save me a couple of cherry trees and a couple of peach trees .He tagged them for me and once they are all dug up and bagged he will have the sale .He never has a huge amount of stuff but has great bargains when he does .I got a lot of stuff from him in the last couple of years

Wow, he's marked the trees for you BEFORE the sale, that's awesome! I've never heard of that happening, he must be some great person. Lucky you, too!!!
Oh, and I looked this morning. The day lilies I got last fall are burgandy and white, and then I have a bunch that are burgandy and yellow, called Calico Jacks.

Cool sissy you can't ask for a better place to shop! But wonder how he makes any money w/ everyone knowing he sells so cheap if they just wait? Must be working for him tho or he'd just go outta business.

CE those daylilies sound real pretty!

I have been going to him since i moved here 8 years ago and he mostly sells to landscapers and hotel and motel chains that buy plants for the inside or outside courtyards .He has lots of greenhouses and very few trees or shrubs but still carries some for retail .He even sells to nurseries that don't want the bother of raising there own plants .I have gotten to know the whole family and they make me feel like i am part of there family .I planted chocolate daylilies and I will see how they come up .I love the plants you can end up with more than 1 plant

And, day lilies multiply year after year and are sooo easy to grow! Addy put some in her bog, and I need to do that, too! Maybe next spring. Tired of digging up plants. LOL Got my front flower beds planted with Zinia and Garzania (sp?) and bought some really beautiful leafed geraniums. Asked the lady about them, and she said they were actually an old variety, they don't bloom as large of flowers, but the leaves are gorgeous. I put these by my back door in the new area and also planted some in pots on the west side. Will see which side they like best, east or west.

Wow, wish I had a Petco close by, Sissy, I would sure check it out! But, to drive 60 miles doesn't make the 40% off very worthwhile. :-(
Thanks, icsd. I liked them, too! Very different, and the lady said they are old fashioned, not new!
Got some Caladiums today, one pink and green leaf, and the other is green and white. Can't wait to get them planted tomorrow night!
