Sissy, you come up with the neatest DIY things. Imagine, a mouse trap that you changed the tightness of the spring, to snap those neighbor pups, to give them the idea that your pond is not for playing in. I wonder if they are coming for water, maybe the neighbors do not give them water. I know my dogs LOVE to drink water out of the pond, so do the outside cats. In fact, with the pond frozen the outside 18" on the bubbler end, I was watching them all the time when my little Boston would go outside! Worried she would try to walk on the ice, and fall or slip in! I already had the plan of attack to get her back out, but it would have meant getting wet and cold in the meantime. Not fun! Also, my inside cat loves to go outside (when it's not raining and not toooooo cold) and he walked the whole perimeter of the pond, on the edge rocks, which were covered in ice on Sat. I could not believe how unstable it was, he was slipping off constantly, but I guess he had a blast doing it, because I kept watching and pretty soon he went for round 2. Haha, Again, I was frightened he would fall in, so I watched the whole escapade. Very funny, should have video taped it.

Country next time we insist on video, lol! My cat fell in once but it was in the summer and she kept walking in front of my face w/ her tail swiping me each time and she got too close to me leaning over the pond and she bumped into me and fell in. She was hanging on to the rocks w/ her claws looking up at me crying for help. She was not a happy cat camper at all! Spent a long time cleaning herself off, lol!

Yep, my Boston has fallen in a couple of times last summer, too. Cats are mostly attracted to the running moving water, which they adore. This black cat that did the edge walking is Tarzan, and he believes he is a dog, as he was raised with my brindle Boston and they play and wrestle together. Tarzan has even learned to fetch. On command, too. Throw his toy (ok, it's a piece of aquarium tubing, don't ask me why he loves it, but he does) down the basement steps, he go charging down there, comes up with it, drops it at my feet, sits down and looks at me to throw it again! This he will do 4-5 times in a row, too, EVERY TIME. It's amazing, as most cats do things like then when they want to, not when you want them to.
Here he is on top of my 55 gal aquarium. He loves to perch up there, but not when the top is open. :)

This next pic is really small, as I took it with my phone, but you can see my brindle Boston laying in the recliner with Tarzan. They wrestled first, each one crying once at least, then fell asleep next to each other. :)

So, next time we have ice (I hope no more this year!) I'll let him out and have the camera ready in video mode. I actually have a video of him fetching the toy. I'll try to find that and post it. It's a hoot!

They seem to not feed the pups or give them water and they dug up my cannas the other day .I'm not getting involved with the people as the are odd and I really think somethings up over there so I will let animal control handle it .The cheapy mouse traps break easy but you can loosen them up by bending the part that closes to loosen it

Sissy you seem to have the worst luck w/ dogs in your neighborhood! I can't say I blame you for calling the dog catcher. Too bad they don't have a jail for disobedient dog owners!

How about that. PUD showed up tonight and removed the two large branches that were on my service line and when one fell it knocked down that bat box that I had on a tree. Put that bat box up 8 years ago. Guess what, it has a bat in it. I didn't think it ever did. I checked it on occasion to find nothing taking residence. And finally, and it gets knocked down. Will be putting it back up tomorrow. Exciting

Neat, Kougs! I have a bat box up, but have not even seen any bats flying around in the summer. I'm hoping that someday .... I love bats!
Once, when I lived in a house with cathedral ceiling, I got up during the night to go to the bathroom and could have SWORN something went wizzing by my head. Told my then husband about it, and he laughed, said I was crazy. Well, the next night, I turned on a small lamp and sure enough, there WAS a bat flying in the house. It flew into our bedroom, then the walk in closet. I closed the closet door, and the next morning took every box off the shelves and everything out of them, shook out all the clothes (he probably was on the clothing and hung on tightly), never could locate him, figured he went back out the way he came in.
But, about a week later, all of us were in the kitchen, here he came, wizzing by all of us. Daughter was teenager at the time, immediately screamed and went into fetal position. Son, also teenager, ran to get a net! Funny, cause I was always told that a bat on the ground cannot fly, they have to crawl up onto something to drop to fly. So, thinking that was true, son slowly get ready to put a small container over the bat to eventually take him outside .... and he flew right up at his face. We were all laughing so hard. Son eventually bumped him back to the floor, and then kept the net over him. He was released, and then the mean look was placed on my husband to find out where this bat was getting in and out of the house! Sorry, long story ....

when i think about it, i dont think it was by accident, i think the police officers were messing about and purposely tried to clock the jet just to see what speed it was doing, only they didnt expect it to respond how it did !!
