So I shouldn't stress then and leave it?
I get a bit off and on, once my bog gets going, plants get going it goes away. I ignore it. The fishless slow flow warm ponds get a bunch, I leave it for the frogs dragon flies and bees. They live in the stuff. The bees land on it to drink.

I just leave it right now. It's the only plant life in the pond at this time of year. Like @addy1 said - once things start growing, it tapers off dramatically.

I have the same stuff too. But when I started the aerator this week, the extra water circulation moved the loose stuff towards my skimmer and was removed by the filter. All that remains is the coating on the liner and the submerged pots.

Yup!, that's the good stuff. It will do no harm to aquatic plants. It provides habitat to myriad micro- and meio-organisms which are themselves a natural source of food for fish. Very healthy looking pond.
