That is what I thought I read in the bog thread. Luckily I have plenty of liner for the bog because I wanted it to overlap the pond liner for the stream. So I have a good three to four feet of liner extra on each side of the bog. I will just need to build up the walls a little more than what I had, I had a six inch cushion, but seeing the water level now I might as well build it up a little more.
This is why we advocate for not cutting liner for a year live with the pond first. It's a living being

I have my edge a solid 6 to 8 inches above the water line..
Yes easy fix when the liner is still in one piece.
You have done well now well see how the green water and hair algae do to your being

Well my cranberries have plenty of antioxidants so there will be no green stuff;) If that does not work, then a bottle of clorox.

We have a neighbor down the road with a pair of nesting swans on his pond to keep the geese away - geese are crazy; swans are true gangsters. This pair would cross the road every Sunday like clockwork and go swim in the pond across the street until Tuesday and then wander back home mid-afternoon. Crazy birds. Anyway, every few weeks he would come home and find his kid up the tree with the swans circling and honking down below - kid would get off the bus and for whatever reason the swans decided he didn't need to be there and they would chase him right up the tree. Which is where he would stay until his dad got home and the swans would wander off. Better than a watch dog.

The romans use to use genie hens as watch dogs not as a threat but try and sneak past one some timei

So I went with @GBBUDD advice (because I am afraid of the all caps if I did not) and added goldfish this morning. Just 5 Shubunkins (pond pack) from Next Day Koi. Did some reading and I should be ok adding this late in the season and have them make it through the winter. They are only 5-6 inches long. Look very tiny in a 3700 gallon pond, lol.
Unfortunately one of the fish was doa. It was floating on its side in the bag, put it in the pond right away as they advised in that situation but there was no reviving it. I know you will all be surprised that I, as an attorney, would be too honest. I ordered the five pack but they sent six including the dead one. I emailed them that one had died in transit but I did get five which is what I ordered. Less honest person I guess would have said nothing about having the five live ones and try to get a credit for the dead one, lol.

Lol, sorry to foil your evil plan. Thought for sure you would blame the cranberries for the dead fish (yes, I am never going to let you live that down).
Fish seem happy, they definitely like the fish cave. Still cannot believe I was that dumb about the dead fish, but honestly they could have offered a discount on a future order or something, lol. But now I know why they didnt because of your plan.

Thanks, I will have to take you up on that at some point. I mentioned before, in MA they are strict with the water plants so you cannot buy most of them here or buy online and ship here.

More heavy rain coming this weekend, ugh. Will probably be up to 8 inches of rain since I turned the pump on two weeks ago.
