Awesome strawberries Sissy! I have very tiny wild Alpine strawberries, just starting to grow again. They are so small but WOW they are so sweet and tasty, exactly like those pink marshmallow strawberry candies I used to eat.

In Pennsylvania we used to pick wild strawberries and also teaberries .But at home I picked over 3 acres of strawberries on our farm .Everyday since my father grew eraly and mid season and late blooming strawberries .Besides 2 acres of all kinds of tomato's and lots of peppers and cantelope and watermellon .My dad was and organic farmer back in the 60's .We had just over 5 acres to farm but since no one owned the property the county gave us permission to clear and farm it .Used to love eating fresh whatever I was picking ,I guess I never really ate a real meal but sure did eat fresh .I picked more strawberries today and mail lady came so gave her a basket to eat and made the mistake of putting the rest inside on laundry room floor to come in and finding peanut eating them .But he did leave the stems

I have to get him fixed and then he will fatten up .I get the low cost certificate from the animal shelter and the vet is right down the street from the animal shelter .I just took food and treats as they were low on dog and cat food .So I spent 62 dollars on food and took it there .So sad because they are not getting any donations .I also bought a collar and leash there for peanut ,it costs more but worth every penny

I bought new sliding screen doors for my patio doors and bought 2 with hinges for my basement doors and another 1 for my shed when Mason Kendall comes and puts in the side door on it .I do not want to cut metal or weld so leave that up to the professional who did the carport and shed roof .The metal screen doors were all 20 dollars a piece but since I know the owners of the store they gave them to me for 15 dollars each .I like the fact they have the metal decorative panel in the bottom .The sanding sponges were 3 dollars for 24 of them .Got door sweeps to replace the ones on my doors 2 dollars each .Had my car so have to wait to pick the doors up until tuesday when they are open again .

I did the same almost gave all my furniture away but my tools came with me .Only furniture I kept was my large curio cabinet and my grandfather clock .My sister gave me 2 plastic chairs to sit on .My hubby did buy the bedroom furniture before I moved down here because we had both seen it and loved it .The only thing he did not get a mattress I could live with .He was down here 7 months before I moved down here and he had to wait for the flooring to be put in and get our C of O .We were lucky because the county gave it to us with out the porch's or steps and with out the basement windows which all came broken .
So funny to hear this Sissy...When I lost my Husband of 36 years to cancer last year I moved from the Adirondacks to Virginia. I sold my furniture and gave most everything else to Goodwill BUT I took every one of my tools, all of my screw/nails/hardware, ect... I live to do projects so I love seeing yours.

Similar here retired from NJ to VA back in 2004 and bought the lots a year before .Gave everything away except for grandfather clock and curio cabinet and of course my tools .I had 2 lawn chairs my sister gave us to sit on and the bedroom set hubby and I loved before we moved here .I moved here to be near hubbies mom and dad and love it but truly miss my friends back in NJ .Last time I was up to NJ was 2 years ago when brother suddenly passed away .He was 50 and was planning on moving down here to be near the rest of us .We could always count on Joey calling Sharon while we were at the Eden NC flea market on saturday and we both miss that call .Hubby had 9 brothers and sisters and when we married youngest was 3 years old and when he started kindergarten we had our first son and he told teacher he was an uncle and she thought he was fibbing and called his mom .I had all the sisters and brothers a person could ever want or need and it was great .I now have 3 projects going .

What made you pick Charlottesville .I looked at Lynchburg and there but much cheaper here and close to family so was a no brainer .only reason I looked up that way was because it was closer to get to NJ .But here i am only 15 minutes to NC and 10 minutes from 1 sister and 20 minutes from the other .Plus I like seeing and listening to the cows and horses .Only time I don't like it is when they escape and visit me .Poor chihuahuas are scared to death of them .I went to leave Chi.'s out this morning to them paniced and running back in .The chain link fence was between them and 1 of Marty's ponies .I thought it was funny because deer come up to the fence all the time and they bark at them

I did not pick Charlottesville, C'ville picked me....Long story short...Husband died, lived in log cabin WAY back in the woods (mile driveway) in Upstate, NY...Almost froze to death first winter alone...Sold cabin and rented in Northern VA by my Son (Manassas)..Too busy after being isolated for 25 years... Then the rental's roof caved in with hurricane...Only other rental I could find with four dogs in a jiffy was in Charlottesville...So there you have it...I bought a house here 15 minutes from the city because I HATED renting....They call it the woods...Ha Ha....I lived in the woods, this is suburbia...Sounds like you picked the perfect place for you:)

I love where I live but really hate to have to travel over 30 minutes to a store but the views are great .The neighbors are all pretty nice but I miss being close to a store where I can just run out and get something I need .I Edison NJ i was about 5 minutes from shoprite and about the same from home depot and cosco .I lived right off route 1 and could even walk to my dentist and eyeglass place right at the top of Old Post road .I really do miss that .Never thought I would miss high traffic time where 5 minutes to Shoprite turned into almost an hour ,but you learned fast not to go out at that time .Lived only a few minutes to Middlesex County College .All my friends lived right near me also and we used to go bike riding or walks on days we could get together .But taxes kill you there .When i left taxes on my house were over 12 thousand a year on just under an acre on a private road ,here I pay just over a thousand dollars on just over 3 acres .I go your way when I go up to NJ but like said that has been awhile .The roads have really changed up your way since a lot of the Washington people live in VA
