Haven't seen nessie in a few days, was thinking it moved on ..................nope sunning on the cover I have over the outflow pipes from the 1000 gallon pond. It had been hanging out in the pot (oil pan) with its head sticking out.

We had new visitors to the bird feeders this afternoon! As soon as I moved to grab the camera they were gone. About the size of a mocking bird but bright yellow chest and brown punk rock hairdo. I'm thinking great crested flycatcher but I've never seen one before.

Red Breasted Grosbeak?
We're seeing them right now, as they migrate through on their way to the high country for nesting.

So many visitors lately!!
The Nessies are a daily visitor. (Awww...... Cuddle Noodles!)

We saw our first George (ie - garter snake) today when my husband pulled back a tarp covering a pile of dirt:

We saw our first Shelly (more likely, it was a Sheldon...)

A tiny, baby grasshopper:

And, of course, we are over run with frogs! I'm just getting them all trained up to pose nicely by the flowers...

Nessie dives into the pond every time I wander down there, well not every time. But quite often.
