My dogs get a piece of frozen chicken every afternoon and it's the HIGH point of their day. I toss it for them and then they "chase" it and dash around the yard with their prize and finally consume it. Except yesterday, when Hambone dashed and the drumstick went that-a-way right into the pond. It landed on an aquablock so could still see it... This is the first time any dog has tried to get in the pond so he was very nervous about being caught

Of course! What kinda doggo Mom would I be if I wouldn't dive in to rescue it for him He was so traumatized that I actually gave him an extra one

First light today the pair of Barred Owls showed up. She's very interested in the pond, so she hopped off the fence to get a closer look while he stayed near the trees in case he needed to make a quick getaway

She came by again a few minutes ago. Didn't stay long though, she saw or heard something that set her off. A few minutes later the pair started singing to one another in the trees by my kitchen

Saved another turtle, went ti feed the fish saw it right on the edge breathing, deep end. It disappeared, very poor swimmer.

Ran for the net, stood there until I saw it by the waterfall. Snuck over there, managed to snag it as it went down again. I placed it in the grass, away from the pond.

While doing that I saw a large one crawling under our shop.

Thrilled at how many I am seeing.

Are those turtles not water turtles and just accidentally fall in?

A damselfly I think. I saw a blue one last year, odd given there is no water source near.

The look on that bunny's face makes me think it might be the Killer Rabbit of Caer Banog. I'd be careful if I were you!

We've got four in total, two of whom we adopted as orphaned kittens. Interestingly enough, though from the same litter, the kittens had two different fathers (cats can do that). So one of them is half African wildcat, with all that that entails, and the other is pure domestic cat. Very, very different types of critter.

Arya the beauty queen and Puma the silver tabby were both adopted by His Honor the Chef, who says he can stop any time.
