Your camera takes nice pix Colleen. We are just going to switch to a tracFone for DH today. Were using a Straight talk phone from Walmart but don't use enough minutes to warrant paying the 30 bucks a month for 1000 mins. Will just pick up a GL430G flip phone ($14.88 at wally world) and buy prepaid minutes getting the double minutes for life thingy. If we like it enough then I'll get one for myself.

What's a tracfone? Never heard of it before. I got the super cool phone for hubby for free with three year contract. I had to pay 450 for the other one, and that was on sale! I only got it cause now when he's gone out of town for days at a time, I can see and talk and he can see and talk with me too. After his health scare, I wanted him to have it, he works hard and now he can watch TV and do the internet too while he's out of town living in the "box" trailer by the shop. We don't have computers, just this tablet we got for free and I really got the phones mostly for the Skype (see and talk) and pictures. We don't have expensive entertainment budgets, don't waste money on expensive clothes and stuff, haven't had a holiday for years, but I just wanted to see him every day while he's away, and he can see Poppy and Bear running at the park with me.... I did it for the "four legged children"! :) :) :)

Yes, the TracFone is pre-paid and I have had it for years. Does not much but ring when someone calls me. No camera or call w8ing or forwarding...just a basic phone. I just bought more minutes $19.99 for 60 minutes and 3 mos. of service, I had a code that allowed me to get an extra 60 minutes so for $19.99 I got 2 hours of time and 3 mos. of service and the minutes roll over as long as you buy more minutes b4 your 3 mos. of service expire. I answer it only when I recognize the number of the caller and I do not even have it set up for voice mail. Everyone that knows me, knows to call the home landline phone if they want to leave a mssg. It gets turned off when I enter my house and turned on when I leave to go somewhere...if I remember to turn it on, that is!

We just got back from buying the LG430G tracfone ($14.88) and it does have a 1.3 MP camera w/ digital zoom so not so good but he didn't buy it for the camera. He just wanted a simple cheap flip phone for calling when necessary and that's it. It gets double minutes for life as long as you buy minutes before the end of service expires. Waiting now for it to charge and get the old cell # transferred to the new one. He just bought the 60 min. card but that will automatically register to 120 mins so pretty good deal. I read where you can set your voice mail up on your home phone. We'll see how it goes and if that really works.

My husband has an even cheaper version, what he calls the "druggie dealer type phone", they call it that cause know one knows who you are, cause it's "second hand" from Value Village" stores or Salvation Army stores, for only a couple bucks, and you get a phone card for it. But the reception is bad, especially in the "middle of now where", and then we burn through many phone cards cause we talk morning, noon and night, he's out of town every week for several days at a time, and we like to talk lots. Life goes by so quick, I realized that after my dog Sadie died, and then I looked for old pictures of her, used to do "film" but that's way to expensive, and it's getting hard to find film. Then you can't beat the quality of video and pictures in the "droids", cause there HD, just like watching HDTV, and you can hook the Droid up to the TV and watch video from there. I had that last phone that was only six months old filled uo with memory, some lost cause I didn't download to computer. This new "Droid" now downloads all the pics and video right away to "drop box" that is free, that automatically saves everything to "space", case something happens to your phone. I always used to just love old "slide shows" people used to have for family and friends. I had hours of three minute clips of all the puppies from day one, life at the park was a video every day, but the quality really sucks when you blow the picture up to a bigger screen. I still enjoy looking at the old clips of family and friends from years ago, no matter how bad you thought it was twelve years ago, and was going to erase it cause you hated it way back then, you will love it now. Life seems to go so quick, work work work, need to have special moments taped, so I can enjoy them again later.

Lets face it, in twenty, thirty years some of us will be talking about the ponds we "used to have" so I will cherish nice video to relive the moment.
:) :) :)

Nice pix Colleen!

Well forget that tracfone! Took it back to wally's world. Could not even get 1 bar of service here. Found out the phone uses AT&T towers and we have Verizon towers around us. Stupid tracfone site said we would get service here. The manager at wally's was nice enough to give me a gift card for the minutes I bought too. It says right on those prepaid phone cards no refunds but he did. So now hubby back to using the Straight talk phone. Oh well, wonder what Verizon prepaid is like?

My phone is a old verizon, I pay 100 a year for xx minutes, (can't recall the minutes, I never run out lol) For around 8 bucks a month I have a phone I can take with me when needed.
Check their web site jw, there are some different plans

I got a three year contract with bell, you get a new super cool phone to go with it every three years. I pay 60 a month, but I get to talk anywhere in Canada for free, Skype all over the world (it's free, but it uses minutes, but I have more than I use, cause I get to talk with ten numbers anywhere in Canada for free and unlimited minutes, plus it's a mini high tech computer, camera, video, and all kinds of TV and movies!, works great for hubby cause he's out of town all the time and sleeps in the trailer by shop, he had black and white analog TV, that quit working 31 July. I just want him to be happy, he's still got puffy gum, will have to have his top teeth taken out, and live "toothless" for a while till it heals, poor dear.... want him to be happy, he deserves it! :) :) :)

Do you have a contract w/ them addy?

not for years! I just pay once a year, even have $$'s that carry over. I don't think you need a contract with the plan I have. They keep offering me a new phone, but this one is a work horse, so why change.

I checked addy and the $100. one you still have to pay like 25cents per minute and if you use the phone at all on any given day you also have to pay 99cents for that day too. Maybe your plan is a different one that they don't do anymore?
