It will be low tech, I can say that for sure!
No point putting in pumps and plumbing when it won't be used for 6 months of the year!
Probably just some aeration during the summer and pond breathers during the winter.
Looking forward to having some proper submerged plants and some native willows included for marginals.

Good news and bad news.
Good news, all my fish except for 2 made it through the winter.
Bad news, the contractor can't find any labourers to work, so no idea when he can start on my pond.
Usually he says he's swamped with student resumes. This year, either none want to work or they don't have a vehicle to get to work!

I've already drained the pond, so I'll have to plug away at it as I can....

I wanted to get it done before the June rains came.

Can you rent an excavator , or is it more complicated then just digging? We went to a restaurant yesterday and the wait was over 45 minutes long . We saw so many empty tables so inquired and were told they didn't have enough employees :(

Yes, I see Home Depot rents small excavators, so I thought I would get one from them and just keep going until the contractor shows up and can take over from there.
One of the signs of a good economy is lots of jobs available. Doesn't help those of us that want to hire someone to get some work done.
I've heard a lot of restaurant franchisees are complaining because they have to work their restaurants themselves...
