I saw some of the fish swimming down in the shallow end, checking it out. Pond water is 40f right now.

The first loop pond, small, still frozen, edges are melted. I am waiting for it to melt see if the 3 fish I saw in it managed to survive. They managed to get there via the garden hose feed from the big pond.

My pond is ice free right now. Water is a little murky. I lost 2 babies from last year. One bigger fish seems to be struggling. All others ok. The several fish I saw under the ice that I thought sure were dead were not. Still more winter to come so hopefully all continue to do ok. Mild weather for the time being but we have to get through February!

The pond thawed today, I saw a flash of two or three of mine, not a great view, but enough to know they live!

My little ponds froze up again. Big ponds look like water, need to stick hand in and see if the ice layer is gone.

The sun came up, it is 18f the big ponds have a ice layer again, but most likely just a thin layer.

I SAW MY FISH! We finally have a very thin layer of ice (which got covered with about 7 inches of snow last Tuesday) and this morning there's a hole big enough to see to the bottom and THERE ARE FISH! Swimming slowly, but definitely alive and looking great!
