JW, I am looking for babies this year and so far can't find any. I didn't have any last year after the huge explosion from the year before. I always feel bad when my bigger fish go into the to sedge plants and start biting and pulling on things. Hopefully it's not baby tadpoles or fish!
I had a large screened floating plant ring in mine for a few years and lots of babies would fit through and live in there and then I would have to dump them out when they couldn't fit back out. Some survived but could not let them stay in that ring or boy would I have overpopulation. Don't want to imagine fish biting and pulling apart be'be's but bet they do gobble them right up whenever they get the chance.
