I was tying to be positive. A new member posts the results of their planning and hardwork and some folks jump on criticizing the liner they chose after it is already installed. Even thicker liners fail early sometimes. It is what it is. When it fails, it will be addressed then. It is not so bad that it should be torn out and redone. Comments could be made in a more positive way. I was trying to add positivity and encouragement.
Don't have an issue with that at all - I think you'll find most folks here are incredibly positive and supportive. However the OP did come here specifically to ask about the liner - people weren't commenting just randomly, criticizing the choice. I'd rather the next person who reads this learns something from someone else's (potential) mistake. And maybe now IS a good time for her to re-do the liner... that's for her to decide obviously.
This particular liner is even marketed as "budget pond liner". We all have a budget, but I would just recommend that if someone is going to try to save money on a pond build, they go all in on the liner and save money elsewhere. That's all.
And again - I hope @Jackie simpson gets 20 years plus out of her liner. We all hope only the best for each other here!
