Larkin your poor wife. I still think it's going to be beautiful when you are done. Your hard work is going to pay off in the end. Keep posting pics. I want to see the gazebo. :>)

24 hour countdown. Got the Skimmer and the Filter falls all tied into the liner and the Plumbing hard piped. So we are now in the filling stage. Had about 50% of the water in the pond previously with just a submersible pump running to move the water around for the last couple of weeks. Today the thunderstorms were coming is so I hrried up and finished installing the liner and covering the falls before the rain started. Once the storm hit it filled the pond 6" just during the rain and I've added about 6" with the hose. have about another 14-16" to go to get enough water going in the skimmer to make a trial run and test for leaks. Crossing my fingers on this one that all goes well.

Fantastic fishin! Love a help from nature filling the pond. We got a good water change last night with the rain. I would have to rerun the number but with the gutters, probably put in 600 gallons of fresh water! it poured and came down quickly

The koi pond is actually up and running, well sort of. At least it has water running through the skimmer and out the filter falls. gazebo/bridge is about 90% complete. Finally felt like we made some major accomplishments today.

Beautiful Larkin! Glad to see it all coming together so nicely after all the headaches you went through thinking it might be a disaster! Love your gazebo/bridge!

JW, I'm not sure exactly what to call it. LOL
It's positioned so as to give some morning shade to the Koi Pond and some evening shade to the Water garden, and shade most of the afternoon under the cover. We haven't started feeding from it at all yet so when everyone goes out on it the fish just casually swim around. If I go to the feeding deck they all come rushing in. All and all I think it came together nice. Worked on the water fall this evening. Hauling in rocks and moving the rocks around I'm sore and aching but it really feels good to see the water finally moving.

love the metal roof
UGH, that's the one thing I never liked. BUT, It was put on with purpose. I felt that that was the safest material to use to allow the water run off to be used in the ponds. Personally I would have rather had cedar planks but that really didn't seem like a good option choice, and shingles to match the house were probably not safe to use either. .
CK, Thank you so much for the compliment. I'm very far from impressed. Actually very disappointed, What I had invisioned and what I got is quite different. But at this point it is what it is, so I'll just try and make the best of it. LOL Not one of those ponds you can just pull up and start over.....

Oh gosh just think when people are sitting under there during rain hearing the tinkle of rain on the roof .It reminds me of my grandmas house back when I was a kid .Like wind chimes in the wind a great place to take a nap with the water noise and the tinkle of rain ,how good could it get .

Love metal roofs, I put one on my arizona home, it had cedar shake, which was falling apart. Late hub and I bought a metal roof that is made to look like shake, 50 year plus guarantee . If you want you could look for one similar. Expensive for our house, but it would not be too bad for that roof.

quit beating yourself up it looks great!
