Cheers, we have lived here for 23 years and have sat outside more this year than any other time.
we are exactly the same, i spent more time hopping on the harley and go to someone else's back yard before the pond these days i am barely even on it. you'll find me sitting pond side like today having a tag sale and spending 3/4 of the day telling people how the pond works and answering questions.

drape fabric/ underlayment over it but make sure you get it into the water let the wicking work to your advantage with moss and i'd recomend yellow / golden creeping jenny it will drape down that and even into the water softening the sharp edge a little

i have to be a little critical however i just noticed your water level in the bog leaves very little height difference to the edge of the bog and containment . take my word for it the water is going to rise when the plants get going. potentially creating a overflow a loosing water. or is there i looked again in another picture you have 6" differance hard to tell from photos?

Thanks for the suggestion, I can't use my current underlay as it is white, but I should be able find an alternative.

In reality there is about 2" extra before it overflows the bog, the cladding timber is higher, but that will not make a seal. I'll keep an eye on it, and if I have just clear it out a bit i will. If it does overflow it's not a problem, the water just goes on the surrounding slabs.

But as I say, if I see a problem building I can do something to stop it.

I do need to lower my pond overflow, it's too high, so the current overflow is the RDF and it soaks the pump room

Not a great photo but today I added an air curtain around the curved wall. You can just see the bubbles around the curved wall.

I'm pleased with results, it worked straight off, although I may use second pump for it, I can then turn the it and the bottom drain air of independently. I found some low cost smart plugs, so will able to control when them come on.

The air curtain, was made from a porous pipe, with a 6mm stainless steel bar down the middle to weigh it down, bar was quite easy to curve to match the wall. Then a a bit of air tube up the wall and into the air pump valve. The total cost around £80

My biggest problem is to get the air tube staying neat against the wall. But all in all very pleased with it, it should help with circulation and keeping the pond clean

Stainless pipe that was easy to bend ? I take it this is more like a dryer vent with the interlocking spiral pipe. ? It should be close the heavy enough to hold its self down but I guess it's walking on you would a brick or a drilled out stone fo the job of holding it in place ?

It was a stainless steel bar, yes very easy to bend and shape into the curve, I then inserted the bar in the bubble pipe below, and then just connected it to the air pump via a sinking pipe. The air curtain is staying in place, it's just the connecting pipe to the air pump which is a bit untidy
