It's always sad to see dead stuff on the roads. Now that Spring is here it just gets worse. Feel sorry for the snakes that come to sun on the cement and then get flattened. Frogs come out on rainy nights and whacko lots of them goners. Today tho I saw living creatures coming out to enjoy the nice day. A little chipmunk in the tree farm just sat and stared at me from about 5ft away. We had a conversation, lol.

There is one old horse w/an injured leg that I talk to most everyday. He lost his old buddy not too long ago so he's lonesome. The world would be sad w/o critters.

I'm really bad tho cuz I bend down to pick up bugs etc. off the roads and I find myself scolding them for ending up where they could be harmed. Cars come and they must wonder what that crazy lady is doing poking at the side of the road jabbering away w/her butt sticking out in traffic

I remove the huge night crawlers off the road so they won't cook when the sun heats up. ..........Dear honey scolded me, nicely, for almost going off the road to miss a squirrel.

I always tell my hubby he is driving too fast for the critters. My eyes are always on the look out for things on the roads. I hate when the worms get cooked and the slugs too. I think it's time for my medication now :ROFLMAO:

I thought I was the only one who talked to bugs and critters. I asked the worms why they were out a couple weeks ago during a warm spell.

Ha Ha yes you would expect them to be able to sense the heat and head for the depths.
Maybe you can teach them well, Grasshoppa

I took Missy out for a walk, the dirt started moving in front of her, she went into alert mode. Growling, barking, staring at the moving dirt. (a mole digging up) Out comes a earth worm, she stares at it as if to say how can that little thing make the dirt move?

Egg #3 is beginning to hatch on the eagles nest. The other two have been eating constantly.

Had a great time at the unfinished pathway/prairie restoration. I almost wish they weren't going to pave it, because there's never anyone there. Fantastic area tucked away behind a high school and the city dump, oddly enough.

The most exciting part was finding the first reptile of the season! Actually, Two Plains Garter Snakes were out sunning, and I found them about two steps away from the car. I was only able to catch one for a quick photoshoot, and I'm really impressed with my new camera. Focused quickly and the clarity is better than I hoped.

Even more exciting, I would've never been able to take this photo in shade. It would've been too grainy with my old camera. That opens up a world of possibilities.

Here's a ponder's best friend.

Lastly, yet another sign of Spring, Tree Swallows have returned! I'll have to open up my birdhouses!

I've done a lot of practice with my camera over the past three months but today was really its first time in action. I'm really happy with the images I can get now. I've also got a video I need to piece together and share tomorrow.
