We have great horned owls, they sure do sound off at night. Sometimes even during the day. Love to listen to them, it even echos

My friend took this up in Canada. Horned owls in the Americas vary widely in size and plumage color. Northern birds are paler, with the subarctic variety appearing almost white. Central American subspecies on the other hand, are a deep chocolate brown. This is a northern bird:

I know it's just me projecting human emotion - anthropomorphizing if you will - but that bird looks pissed.

Here's the two photos I took of owls last year, since we're on the subject. Haven't seen any this year. The first one was in my yard, and it did the same thing two or three nights in a row. It was kind of odd. The second one was found in the woods. Always loved the silhouette, wish I could've gotten a closer shot.

If you bundle up good like the Michelin man you will be good for the go. Looks like a pretty fall walk through the trees. Wow no snow!

I'm using it right now JB but I'm sure I will eventually give a bunch back to you sooner than you might like.

While walking in the woods today I had two coyotes cross my path. First time I've ever seen them back there in the 16 years I've been walking the trails, so that was pretty cool. They never saw me and continued up the trail. I didn't get a photo of them, but I did, of course, get a photo of the woods. This was taken about two minutes before I saw them.

Cool JB! I think when you get old and gray we will hear about an old man w/ a long white beard living in the woods in an old tree w/his pet bear and hawk :)

Not bear, pet squirrel. I will have to keep the squirrel and hawk separated, though
