Hang a feeder rite by a table. Sit and shoot pics

The problem is the bees like the sugar water also and they are starving right now. We are in a dearth, i.e. no nectar flow.

That is a real pretty flower, it seems to be a bulb you plant.

If there is a good nectar source you will see that highway. We saw it when the black locust bloomed this year. Non stop flying to the south east from us. We put is ornamental grasses in front of the hives to convince them to fly up and over them. Now I can walk in front of the hives to get to the rest of the yard.

We use around 1500 hundred pounds of sugar this time of year. I put out 200 lbs yesterday and it is already all gone. Back to costco!

I get loads of honey bees and native pollinators on Blue Giant Hyssop. I'm actually impressed by how much wildlife this specie attracts. A wide variety of bees, various butterflies, hummingbirds, and now the goldfinches are arriving for the seeds! It's my most active native specie, and that's saying a lot because I have 40ish native species. It's long-blooming and drought tolerant.

I have planted a lot of hyssop, it struggles to survive here, probably the competition with the weeds that are out of control.

Here is a neat write up about opossums, I am glad they choose to live here.

They visit our bee hives every night, eating up the dead bees. Good cleaning crew!

The twins were playing in the field today..............
The one was getting a snack when mom called for it to come, she was back near the woods, the twin had already gone to mom.........
It took just seconds for the fawn to respond and disappear.
