The sugar white snow is gently falling on my gingerbread house! Made this one just tonight! The newly built gingerbread house features a freshly poured sidewalk of creamy milk chocolate, with colorful spinkes, and the roof is covered with melted white Lindt chocolate and covered in spinkes!!
The front yard is landscaped with miniature Belgium Chocolates that look like cupcakes!

JW, I am not a "candy" type, I rarely eat candy, but I do love good quality dark chocolate! I make the houses to give away and make small children smile :) I really like to just built them, it's not to hard, buy a kit and add more candy, change the design every time!

This afternoon by the pond, sun was shining nice and bright, temperature reached plus 8 c, thanks to the Chinook that blew in! :)

That's right Colleen I think you mentioned you made them for the kids awhile back. Very nice of you and bet the kiddies want to eat them up!
Got my walk in today w/ just a few drops of rain on my head. Winds still blowing and threats of more wet stuff at 47F and falling.

They are all fine, just a little "sleepy" so they don't move too much right now, and they like to hang out under the roots of the big Yellow flag Sedge. :)

Now that the ice melted again in the middle pond, Poppy can test the water again! sun set at 4:22 pm today,

Colleen I never know what temp you are when you say it in Celsius so I added a weather banner of your area to my siggy so I'll know how cold you are compared to Fahrenheit. Hope you don't mind as I know you can't add one to yours cuz you are on an iPad :)

Very cool JW! I like that, nice to compare our temperatures! I have a hard time with fahrenheit. Had a big day and falling asleep, got to drag myself to sleep soon and snuggle that fat Poppy. Forgot to mention that Poppy was limping after the freezing rain the other day. I think she slipped on the ice, same thing happened to my friends dog too, Poppy doing better today, :)

Took these pictures as the sun was going down tonight.

Today the sun was shining, did the "once" a week top off the pond, have a hose hook up and toss hose out window to pond to fill up in winter. My bottom pond shows the water evaporation as it keeps the tops ponds full, which then spill back down to bottom pond. The bottom pond has a overflow, where the extra water can be carried away to this big tree.

It's good to have a overflow, so that extra water can be overflowed down away from the main pond, to avoid liner slipping and sagging after heavy rain.

We have been lucky this December, lots of Chinnok winds so I have not needed to plug the pond heater in for many days. All the ice is pretty much melted now as you can see.

OH boy -5 or 23F you are getting pretty cold right tonight. You might have ice by morning unless the Chinook winds save you again

That's ok, ice was there couple days ago. Thanks goodness for warm Chinooks! Fish were little more active after I topped pond off with hose. Fish were swimming in and out of hornwort weed.
