I'm really enjoying your pics, Colleen! If you have your own thread, though, you don't have to worry about getting off on a tangent on someone else's thread. Keith says he doesn't mind, but some others do. Not me! I love others to post pics on my threads, too. Just don't like people posting stupid stuff, like happened on one of my threads. It was someone trying to sell something or another. Anyhow, you can showcase your pond, your yard, your fish, anything. It's all for fun and entertainment for us all!
Keith, it's a pretty expensive tavern going to a ballgame to drink! Yikes, what are beers at Wrigley these days? I think Busch is $7 for a 12 oz cup! I think I'd rather go to the real tavern and watch the game on a big screen. LOL The excitement is fun, and the atmosphere as well, at a live game, though.

Colleen, if you want to start a thread in Garden Pond Photography, which this is under, go to the top of the page here, click on Garden Pond Photography. Then look towards the top right side. There is a "button" that says, "Start New Topic". Click on that, name it and there you go!

Yep, the beers are expensive that's why all the Wrigleyville taverns and restaurants are so busy before, after, and during the games. My daughter likes Moe's Cantina. They have vegetable and chicken skewers. It's a lot better than a $4.50 hot dog! Colleen feel free to stick around until you are comfortable starting your own thread.

Funny, CK. There is a little town north of me, Strasburg, that had some big write up about Gnomes. I think maybe that little town had the most gnomes per capita or something like that. Someone started it, then it became a frenzy, now others look for gnomes when they travel and they had a big day or weekend to show them all off. :) I have a few myself.

CE, A really great movie with an important garden gnome in it is Amelie, a french film from 2001. Amelie persuades her father to follow his dream of touring the world by stealing his garden gnome and having a stewardess friend send pictures of it posing with landmarks from all over the world. I guess it didn't originate the traveling gnome, but this movie made them more famous and it was the first time I was aware of how they moved around. http://en.wikipedia....iki/Am%C3%A9lie. It was way before popular films about gnomes like Gnomeo & Juliet

Hi Colleen. They are doing great. There are eleven remaining. It looks like 10 are in perfect health including 3 or 4 before that I was really worried about. The eleventh looks good but I noticed that some of the others will put their mouths on her body. I don't know if there is something on the fish the other fish are trying to pick off. It's funny that even the tadpoles do the same thing. She looks normal but it was one of the worse off before so I am still keeping a close eye on her. I think the warmer weather has helped. I fed them for the first time last Friday and several of them really perked up and stopped being so lethargic right after that. I am feeding them every other day now. Maybe instead of being so worried about fish waste it would have been better to feed them sooner? Anyway they are all really active now and the most friendly I have ever them. Whenever anyone walks up to the pond they all swim over to them. re: Hot dogs, not a big hot dog eater but we barbecued chicken tonight and threw a few hot dogs on the grill. Everything came out good. Thanks for asking!

Well the weathers been much warmer here too and my fish are moving around the pond very fast tonight. Have been feeding mine more now that the water warmed up and they follow me around the pond. Got lots of white flower pedals falling in the ponds from the fruit trees, the path around the pond is getting covered like a carpet in white flower petals. They dissolve quickly in the water and my big yellow iris reaches out with its long feathery roots and grabs on to the petals then they just disappear!

I did some work in the yard tonight planting petunias in pots and noticed my fish were zipping around like crazy too. We had a huge warm spell in March this year and the ornamental pear tree in our yard had blossoms at the end of March and they all fell into the pond back then. April was super cold. Lately the weather has gone up and down a lot. Two days ago it was in the mid 80's and today the high is in the 50's and it's going back into the 80's this weekend. It's been a weird spring. My fish are all looking good so what ever was wrong before looks like it has gone away.

Glad your fish are doing better, CK! That's great news. Temps here have been perfect, 70's during the day, 50's at night. I'm loving it! We don't the higher swings in temps that you have up there near the Lake, I would guess. I like that it gets nice and cool at night, because the skeeters don't like it below about 60. LOL And, I HATE skeeters! Yuck!
