The yellow will be beautiful viewed from your balcony ! I had a pretty yellow koi that was one of two I rehomed to a much larger pond due to the size of my pond, but I sure do miss seeing that bright yellow !

Thanks Tula. At one time I was worried about getting fish with too much black that I couldn’t see them because of the clarity of my water. Now I love my jumbo Tosai Shiro Utsuri. It’s black and white and so beautiful. I got that and a Showa this spring and they are both doing really well. Hmmmm.... I’m thinking of giving away some goldfish. Am I a sell out? I’ll have to change the name of my thread!

Yep sell out! I can change the name of the thread to goldfish/koi if you want me to or whatever you want.
Thanks Addy. I still like comets so I’ll keep the name.. Oh I added one more fish to the order! A Shusui KoI. It has red coloration. I always wanted a Shusui and wanted one more metallic fish that was a little different from all the others. It’s only 6 inches so it will take a little time before it grows. Hopefully by then I’ll have given away some goldfish to reduce the bioload. I did a little reading about the Ki Utsusri like the one I bought. It’s black and yellow. The yellow is a recessive gene so it’s really had to breed them. I thought people didn’t like them but it’s not a demand issue it a supply problem that there are so few on the market. I’m looking forward to my three new Koi. I bought a really cool showa too. Well I’m done buying fish for a long time....

So I got my Koi today. The black on the Ki Utsuri was very faded from travel but I guess it will come back. The Shusui was really pretty. Overall these were nice fish... but the Showa I ordered somehow got mixed up and the guy there picked group D fish D instead of group D fish C. It’s a Showa with a white nose. Not my favorite but hopefully the black and white will get stronger with age. The one I didn’t get I was really looking forward to.....Anyway I called and they apologized for the mistake. They are sending the missing fish at no charge and no charge for the extra fish. They were so nice I couldn’t help but to add one more... wow this is the last Koi I will buy for a long time. It’s a really pretty fantail Sanke. I never thought I would get a fantail but this fish is really nice. I took this pic of the bag. The Shusui is on the right and the Ki Itsuri is the yellow one on the left. Not a great pic. They looked so much smaller when I put them in the pond next to the other fish! You can see my Doistsu Gin Matsuba in the picture above them.

Keith, you are just so nice...you could open a home for wayward koi....ones sent "by accident" - LOL All three of these koi are quite beautiful ! I think this is a good time to add them, so they can become acclimated before winter !! Can't wait to see the other on it's way :)

I think someone needs addiction / intervention therapy!
Yes Addy you are so right! I guess I can blame it on covid and how boring my life is right now! Lets see. Buy fish. Now figure out how to clean the water in the pond better. Job done! Now buy more fish and try to clean better the water again. Repeat steps 1 and 2 over and over...

Hey Tula. The Fantail Sanke is gorgeous . The little Showa has great potential. That’s the one I originally wanted but didn’t want to order by itself because of the shipping charge.....and it 5 Koi later!

Yeah... The last batch of fish I bought I chalked up to the fact that no one has yet invented one of those 'breathalyzer' things that can hook up to a home computer. I don't see why the technology that disables a car can't also work to disable my computer/internet and stop me from ordering fish after I've had a couple glasses of wine... :sneaky:

That’s so funny. Lucky they don’t sell Koi on Home Shopping Network! So I was totally sober when I ordered my fish so I’m worse than you! Even took time from work to think over the purchases. So I thought I was so smart. I came home in the middle of the day to release the two new fish on my pond. I carefully did it and recycled the box and everything so as to not put it in my wife’s face I was getting more fish.... She was home but upstairs so didn’t see me...well I left a piece of cardboard on our outdoor table and under it was the receipt for the Sanke. Oh no what a screw up! First question when I got home tonight was why did I pay x amount for a fish! My saving grace is my birthday is in about a week and a half and I told her it was my birthday present. Also I mentioned to her yesterday they sent the wrong fish so maybe I am safe. She didn’t seem mad about anything. I don’t see her sneaking new shoes in the house. Maybe I’m more cautious than I need to be! Fortunately it’s not a money issue as we have spent very little the past 5 months staying home all the time and I’m still busy at work.

So the Sanke immediately started hanging out with my other larger Koi and seemed super happy. The smaller Koi seemed fine too. I was a little worried because I wasn’t home when they were delivered and they sat on my porch for a couple hours. The sun was just hitting the package when I got home but the water was still cool inside. It’s the same length as my largest Showa Koi but not quite as big. I never thought I would get a butterfly Koi but it’s really nice so I’m glad I did.

I don't recall where are you ordering from? Sounds like they are a good company, fixing issues without complaints
