Once the pollen gets saturated and sinks into the water, it gets sucked up and trapped in the filter... But the stuff seems to float for days at a time. I probably don't need much power in a skimmer, just something to keep up with the dust blowing across the yard.

yea, I've seen on ebay a small in-pond skimmer I think was made By Jebao. just something to polish the surface at that last point. Probably could hide it under the rock, Not sure only seen pics.

this is what i was thinking /cgi.ebay.com/660gph-Floating-Pond-Pool-Surface-Skimmer-Koi-Fish-/160432553523?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item255a867e33

bridges are the easiest build I have 4 on my property one over the pond one is a trellis bridge one to get my lawn mower from the back property to the driveway to get to the other side of the lawn and then another to get over a rock drainage ditch .Don't make the arch to steep or you will have problems walking up and down it

thats a nice bridge but here code says if it's to be used by people it needs to have a handrail .I wanted mine open so made it a minimal handrail just within the perimeters of code just in case .It is in my front yard you don't need permits for it but if they happen to see it which they can from my front yard ,don't want any problems .Even fish ponds need to be to code even though they are not inspected at least 3 sides need to be 2 feet off the ground level .I wanted mine next to the front porch so no big deal there .If it's a natural pond no codes

Yeah mine is the same basic design as Dave's bridge... just a simple, open archway. Mine is quite a bit steeper, but also much smaller. It's only one step across the river, and not meant for lawnmowers or anything like that. We'll have to see how this goes - if the arch doesn't work out, I'll just try again.

Thanks JW
This is only part of the adventure here. I have bamboo up to 35' tall around the large waterfall and in other locations on the property. Walkways that connect all 3 ponds with 2 Japanese bridges. Even the growing grounds are turning into a tropical place of comfort.

And when do we make the deal of the sale final did you say DrDave ?
I have always wanted to live in Cali but I don't think that will ever happen.
You should take a full video of your whole place and post it up for those of us who don't live in a lovely tropical paradise to see or maybe you have already done that somewhere in the past on the forum and you can put a link up to view............I don't know but I know I love the ponds, the palms and all the vegetation :fish:

Nice, DrDave... Reminds me of Japanese gardens. Some of the stylings I try to do in my yard are taken from Japanese gardens I've seen online. The water feature, trying to break up any straight lines, growing vines on the chainlink fence to try and hide them... I don't want to completely enclose my yard like is typical of their styling, but I do want to make it feel like it is its own little oasis.

I took one and posted it about a year ago. I may do another soon. It is best done very early before the sun is high and when there is cloud cover. This morning would have been perfect. Maybe next Sunday morning, if I do, I'll put it on you tube and PM you.
In 2 years, this place might be for sale. I want to move to Prescott, Az. My wife is not too keen on leaving So Cal.

Prescott is at 5500 ft and surrounded by 100' tall pine trees. 20 degrees or more cooler than Phoenix.
My home in Escondido is 20 minutes from the beach and 5 min from the mountains. 45 minutes from the desert and 45 minutes from Mexico.
