Inherited Pond - Clueless!

Mine are in just pure clay kitty litter, stink bad.
Grow and bloom great, I just add fertilizer.

I actually just used soil from the garden. I even think some of the clay I used was from excavation of the pond so some of it is just mostly clay. Apparently that's the best thing to use, they just love mud.
