They are 'repurposed' but you can use almost any wood as long as you put a protective coating on it. As I recall, you are looking for this to be used next season which gives you plenty of time to find the wood. One great source is yard sales. Look for wooden bed slats or a used whiskey barrel. The trick is to make sure the wood is thin enough to fit under the tub's lip. I have to say that this isn't an original idea. Years ago, some company sold little ponds sort of like mine and you might be able to find one on a used item site. They were smaller than mine. I needed something in the 40-50 gallon range that wouldn't take up too much room yet be large enough for me to take my Red Mangroves outdoors for the summer.
