PL, I can see your rocks, so either your pond didn't get totally green, or it's already on the mend! It looks wonderful, LOVE your rocks! I wish my ponds were more natural looking, but since my ground is so saturated and water table is so high, I didn't want to take any chances with water draining into my pond from the yard, which water comes from the fields in a heavy rain, too.
Your butterfly koi are gorgeous! So, did the new fish teach the others to come to be fed, or had you already trained the original ones with food? Yippee, they like you. Mine are so funny. If I walk around the pond and keep going around, they just keep following me, even if I've just fed them. And, if I step into the pond onto the shelf or step, they come swimming over like they have to beat the others to get to me. I swear I could catch a few of my goldies with my hands, but when I get the net out, woosh, they are gone! :)
Your dog(s) is/are beautiful! So, is one yours and the other someone else's? They are both fawns, so very similar in coloring ... thought they were litter mates.

Thanks CE. I lovey pond and am super happy with it. The rocks are on the top shelf and it's only about 6" deep there. We were able to see to the bottom and can't right now. Heck I can't even see the tubs my lilies are in. Lol. I have some water hyacinths ordered and hoping they will be in the mail tomorrow (in Memphis now). I keep telling myself patience Lena. :)
I need to stay away from the high school and all the beautiful fish!

Are your temps supposed to stay pretty warm now, PL? It got pretty chilly last night here, down to the 40's, but 32's predicted for tomorrow a.m. I guess the hyacinths need it to be warmer, that's why my local guy would not sell me any last weekend. I would have put them inside in water last night . BUT, I bet you are much warmer down there in TN than I am up here in IL. I can't wait to see your hyacinths and blooming, too! Where did you order them from? I've never looked on Ebay or anything, they are likely much cheaper than locally bought. Let us know how they look when you get them. I may order some, too!

We may have some cooler nights and I plan on bringing hyacinths into garage and put in puppy pool if necessary. Lol.
Thanks addy It wouldn't look so nice if I didn't get all the help from you pond experts on this forum.

OHhhhhhhh I'm so mad...! Something or someone got my fish again! I only had three goldfish but they were about 8" long and today when I got off of work I noticed they were not in the pond! I dont know whats (or who) is getting them but dang it I didn't keep them alive inside all winter for them to disappear within two weeks of them being put back out into the pond! Ugh..going to put up infrared outside security camera's I'ma thinking! Anyone know of a good one that I can find..wireless preferrably!...sorry pl I'm .....ah ticked!

We bought a q-see one, it has worked great so far. Will record snaps or short videos anytime there is movement. Make sure you install the software on a computer with enough empty hd to save the data. We have it on a shop we have just for fun. I prefer our wired system, the pictures are a lot better.

Wow, that sucks, Rebel! I sure hope it was a critter, and not a person! Not that I want it to be anything, but to think that someone would come and steal your goldfish? Unthinkable! Do you live near woods, could it have been a raccoon or fox? Or worse, a heron? I can see a heron taking all 3, but probably not a raccoon. But, people with a net .... Yikes! Hope you get it figured out. Sad, though, soooo sad, especially since you took such care to keep them safe all winter.

I had 5 fish disappear last year..two at once then two again then one...now all 3 of who I had left from last year are gone...with no signs of them anywhere in the yard. Our back yard where the pond is is completely fenced with a 4' high chain link and the other half with a 6' wooden...I looked to see if anything tried to crawl/dig under anywhere under these but nothing. We live inside city limits, but have a river 5 blocks away. Were getting camera's thats all I can say...

Birds like owls or hawks could prolly see them from the air and they swoop down and grab them but wondering if they would take all 3 at once? Well they could come back and get one after another cuz to them perhaps an 8" fish isn't that big especially to a big bird.
I hope you can find out whatever it is that is doing this w/ the camera's and take measures to protect them next time. You might have to make a cover for when you aren't out there. Sorry this happened again.

Rebel I am so sorry. That would totally stink. We haven't at this point seen any signs of predators, but I don't think we will wait till we do. May go ahead and put a net over our pond especially since we are gone alot on the weekends.

CE I got my water hyacinths in the mail yesterday and they all look fabulous. I've put a few in the filter, put a few in my aquarium in the house, lol, and the rest are in a bucket in the garage. Our temps are not close to freezing and as long as we have no danger of frost I think they should be okay.
