Ok so I think I learned something about sugar free substitutes. A doc on the radio said if you eat sugar free fake sugar stuff your brain still thinks you are eating real sugar so it sends a message to release some kind of a chemical maybe insulin from your pancreas and you end up w/ too much of the insulin in your system causing big problems to your body somehow. Does anyone here know anything about this idea? And is there any kind of sugar substitute that your brain won't think is sugar and won't send out that message to your pancreas to shoot out more insulin? Not sure I heard everything exactly right but this is what I captured :cheerful:

Natural insulin produced by the body causes you to 'bulk up', and many body builders take large amounts of sugar before working out so as to improve their muscles. I HAVE heard that consuming artificial sweeteners makes one crave food, and thus gain weight. So much for using them as diet aids! From personal experience, I used to suffer sharp stinging pains in my hands. After reading an e-mail from a friend about the dangers of artificial sweeteners, I quit using then cold turkey. ( I'm diabetic, and had a sweet tooth.) Within three DAYS the pains were gone, and in the 3 or 4 years since, have not returned!

Well, they may be healthy for you, but I have sworn off salads for good! Two days ago we were sitting at the supper table eating plates full of lettuce, tomatoes, radishes, peppers, cucumbers and other healthy stuff (from our own garden), when I thought I detected some movement. I glanced down, and there on a slice of cucumber, was an inch-worm in mid-loop! No idea where it came from, but while I was busy spitting out a mouthful in the washroom, my better half took the plate outside and gently flicked the green monster into the glower beds. So now I refuse to eat anything from the garden, and nothing green is permitted on my plate!!! Think I'll stick to a diet of donuts and buttertarts. :ugh:

Ha ha ha, there are always little bugs and slugs in with the greens unless you spray the plants to death! No toxic stuff here in my garden, the odd bug won't kill you but the toxic chemical spay could! It is a fact of life, bugs always come free with the greens, next time wash the greens better!! :)

I've seen those poor chickens crammed in those cages and its awful! Just going to ruin it again for the small farmers and drive them out of business.
