Wow that's some pricey food!

Hard to tell if my fish noticed any difference with the new food tonight. They gobbled it up, just like everything else. However it looks like it has some really good stuff in it, so even if I mix this small (20oz) bag in with the 5 pounds of wardleys, they're still getting some benefit without costing me a fortune. At least I can tell myself that...

$75 for 10 lb.? I wish I could get food for only $7.50 a pound! Oh, and by the way, I feed mine Laguna Premium food sticks. There is NO corn listed on the label, but it goes for $21, a pound. Not that bad, since a 22 oz. container ($29.) lasts me six months.

Geez John you are right cuz I just figured I get the Tetra Pond (fall and winter) stuff for $23.89 for 3 lbs and that works out to about $8 per pound! So addy's food is a good deal especially w/ no corn in it. Now the Wardleys food for summer is 5 lbs and costs only $13.99 but it's got ground corn as the second ingredient and the food prolly isn't that great.

We both posted together on the good deal addy! So we might have to check into your food and how your fish like it.

Keep in mind that if half your 10 lb. bag goes bad, it's no longer a bargain. How much do you feed in a season? Can you freeze it in one- pound bags to prolong its shelf life? If I remember correctly, Koiguy may have posted on this subject a while back. :profile: :profile: :profile:

I have been told, since I don't feed much, that I can freeze the food, only keep out what I will use. The food is in a vacuum bag at this point. I will open it once our weather becomes "normal" The fish, if fed at all, get the wheat germ stuff.

Holy fish poop 27 the shipping on that food is almost as much as the cost of the food. Still only a bit over $5. a lb so not bad and lots of protein.

Hey I buy my dogs this high quality grain free dog food that has botaicals and stuff, made right here in Alberta Canada. Been feeding it the the dogs and koi for 8 years and the koi come half out of the water and into may hand to eat it so it must be good! When I first heard the people were feed their koi dog food, I thought it was crazy until I compared the list of ingredients!
