How does one cut the lilly blooms out of their pond once they are finished? I hate getting in the pond to do this, the fish nibble on my leg hairs like they are water lettuce roots!

Got to lowes or home depot they have a long handle pole trimmer, just make sure you look for the light weight one ,not the one for trees .I bought mine end of clearance last year for 20 dollars .It extends about 20 feet and also came with a free grabber attachment .Not sure they have them all over ,but they have them here .You can even find them at some garden centers .It looks like a thin flagpole

Speaking of water lettuce, all of mine is dying after seeming to start ok. At least the lillies and hyacinth are growing like gangbusters.
That's kind of weird, I've had more problems with Hyacinths than lettuce, If a Hyacinth is growing and blooming I don't know why a water lettuce might be dying.

My largest ones are growing in still water, in 8+ hours of sunlight and water temps of over 90 degrees F. The best looking ones still get 6-7 hours of sunlight and only minimal water flow.
The one pictured is in a 30 gallon container, no water movement, no fert. no fish. present water temp 94 and stays in full sun all day.
