I have noticed that I have less frogs now that my fish have gotten bigger mainly the koi. I would have at least a dozen or more frogs and now I am lucky if I have two or three.

Joanie; too bad we can't ship frogs across the border. We have so many in and around the pond that I have to walk very slowly and be careful of where I place my feet. Mowing the lawn near the pond is impossible, and when I work around the edges, several frogs will stay a foot or so from me, waiting for any bugs I stir up. And the last set of tadpoles are only 1/4" long, so there will be even more! John

I found some happy little campers yesterday. One in my bathtub pond and one in the big pond. They are both about the size of a quarter. Made me smile :D

Tmann that's Azolla in my bathtub pond and it seems to love to grow on top of soil in that pot w/ the grassy plant. It does turn red also. I've tried floating it in my big pond but it just disappears. I have a bit of it in one of my plant rings in the big pond but it sure doesn't grow much in there either. I got it from a pond out in the wild when I got my duckweed.

j.w.; the first one is a wood frog, see them on the lawn sometimes. Very shy and VERY fast! They spawn in puddles of snowmelt in the early spring, and rarely return to water, so it's strange to see it in your pond. They only grow to about 1 1/2". John

I'm in zone 7 and I found it growing out in a pond not far from here in the wild and it was trying to cover that pond. In my pond maybe the fish are a bother to it but it just ends up gone w/ the wind! I think if conditions are right I have heard it can be invasive, same as duckweed.

Look at the goldmine I found to get lots of Anacharis. It's so thick in there I don't know how the fish, if there are any can move around. There is another pond not far from this one that has tons also:

I could send you some, no problem. All I need to do is grab some up,rinse it off some and pack it up for you. You can just pay the postage. Let me know next Spring or whenever.

Put me on your list, my goldies ate every piece I put in, next year it will be in my small ponds fishless ponds, let it grow then stick extra in the large fish full pond.
