Female KOI DIED

spawning two days. Took female out second day. With no other fish. 4th day she passed. I’ve lost three females due to spawning.. why would spawning last for two day.. same thing with other two females. .

I have rehomed ALL aggressive males no matter what they looked like. sorry for your loss, you could put the males into a pen area untill breeding is over. the fish will let you know when its over.

Since you are moving the fish from one area to another, is the water in the breeding area the same as the pond? Are the water parameters identical? Could the already stressed females be even more stressed by different water conditions?

Is your water very dark like tea. Here in the north east the fires along with the heavy rains that we have had brought he s oke down into the pond I imagine the nutrient levels have skyrocketed.
