I needed my frog/flower fix on my page, so here are a few pics I've taken lately! Loved the reflection in the frog picture, and the lilies are two of my favorites. The cream/burgandy is Gardan Joy, and the orange/red is Tiger Kitten.

This is a white salvia I found this year on sale. I'd never seen salvia in white, and man it sure is growing well! I got two plants, and they each look full of flowers like this one. :)

I love that you have frogs and turtles CE, you guys sre so lucky down there!! I have tried to put frogs in my pond many years ago, but I think they hopped back down the street and went back to the creek! I only seem to get grass snakes! :shifty:

I would be like all of you if it were not for my farm pond providing all the critters that come to my backyard ponds. I ... knock on wood ... find it so rewarding that I have yet to have any type of predator go after my fish or plants in the backyard ponds. I've seen heron, raccoons, skunks, fox, and hawks all on my property, which is only 6 acres. The heron was on the farm pond, which is on the other half of the 6 acres from my yard, but the other critters were in my garden or in the hay barn, which is in the pasture just past my backyard. So, they are all very close, but yet don't come to the yard. As far as the turtle, he has been gone now for 2 weeks, darn it! Seems like they come, stay for about a month, then leave. I get sad, but each year it happens over again, so I assume they return to the farm pond, at least that's what I hope happens. I know the little guy I had this year kept changing ponds, so it's possible the dogs spotted him on his trek. I never found a chewed up shell, though, so am hopeful he made it to wherever he was going. I guess it's God's way of showing me that even though I don't get all the pretty birds (cardinals, blue jays, finch, etc.), I get other creatures that are less common in yards. And, my frogs all get to know me, and then are not so afraid, and feeding them is a hoot. I have never fed them by hand, but also do not feed my fish by hand. I don't want them in the habit of coming to the edge for anything, human or otherwise.

Nice, Fishy!!!! I have never had them stay all winter, they always leave when it's hot out. Let me know how that works for you, or maybe you plan to bring them inside for winter? I thought mine was red-ear, but turns out they are common painted, which is fine with me. I just thought all painted turtles were red-ear sliders. LOL I want to see pics of them when you get them, put pic on here, if you want! :)

A while back I think you asked about my hubby"s organic corn. I have some growing in the front yard that looks pretty nice CE, see how some of the stalks are red. This corn is so ancient it only has three chromosomes! It is half grown right now and seems smaller than normal this year.

When it makes a tassel some of them will be different colors!

Pretty pics CE. :) My daughter fishes at a large farm pond where they have painted turtles. They said they could catch one and put in my pond but If it didnt want to stay, there are no other ponds nearby for it to roam to, just creeks. I wouldnt want it to roam away and not be able to find another home so I will just have to enjoy pics of others turtles.
