That last pic looks like an Oxalis. I have burgandy colored one that looks just like this, only pretty deep red. This one looks similar, maybe will turn darker with some TLC! Pretty!

It is an oxalis and it is darker than it looks in the pic .I was just unsure of if it should be in sun or shade .She just stopped by to pick up some of my passion flower plant I dug up for her .I forgot to ask her .She told me it grows like a weed for her .She hot 1 plant and has several huge mounds of it from 5 years ago .

I think they do well in the sun, Sissy. Oops, wrong! I just got the tag from mine and it says part shade to shade. I have it on the east side of my deck, between deck and the pond, so it gets all the a.m. sun, but has some plants around it. Doing well. Says it is hardy in zones 8-11 and hardy to 15F. Says to fertilize regularly for best results, and normal amounts of water. Drought tolerant, deadheading not necessary. Adaptable as a houseplant. Care: easy. :) There you go! LOL

yeh well my neighbor got them in a hanging pot for her porch and every fall she just dumps the dirt and plants on the ground in different mounds in the yard and hers are in full sun and took over a 5 ft by 5 ft section of her yard and have been coming back every year since she threw them there .Her yard is just a cornacopia of left over plants from pots that just refuse to die ,even when her hubby gets fed up and mows them down

Well, now, that's what you call determination. Those plants are really hardy if they can take all of that. LOL My dad used to call cutting down a tree "extreme pruning", since they always seems to come back up anyhow, unless you painted the stump.

Pretty hibiscus flowers, Sissy! I thought about getting some of that fairy moss. Someone said it's best to grow it in a kiddie pool or tote like you have it, and scoop it into the pond for the fish every now and then, they eat it like candy! And, the reason I didn't get it, was that I was afraid it would take over the pond. Haha. Wonder if I put some in the bogs, if it would help keep the algae at bay!
I read that one type of fairy moss is green in the summer and turns red in the fall. Looks like you have best of both worlds! Very pretty.

Very beautiful and huge Hibiscus! Love the bright color too!
We have that stuff you call Fairy moss growing in a pond near here but we call it Azolla. I've only seen the red here and a lot of duckweed too. DH went wading for it for me last year in his undies

Picture, please, JW ... of your DH wading out in his undies to get his DW some duckweed or azolla!! LOL You must remember to take your camera when going on outings like that. :)
I had a thought! I'd love to have some of that fairy moss/azolla. Could you please ask your DH to wade out there again this year, and scoop up some and you could mail it to me? Of course, make sure he strips down to his undies and that you remember your camera. Haha ... that would likely get you in deep trouble, so I'm just kidding of course, but it does put a funny picture in my mind. :)

You just have to convince him that use other "mature" women would enjoy the pics, tell him how sexy he looks in his undies, that should work, right? :) Sounds like both of you have extraordinary husbands, lucky you!!!

He just laughed when I said some women on the pond forum wanted pix of him gathering Fairy Moss in his undies
He is a good one CE and he's trying to come up w/ a way to make my air pump slow down w/ the volcano bubbles now and he's making me a stainless weir for my stainless waterfall he made a few yrs ago too. I wonder if there is such a thing as a stainless steel pond..............oh boy would it be slippery tho!
