Hello @Gemma how is the pond coming along? I know September here has been mostly rain, and it looks like October is doing the same so I hope it's not the same where you are. It's hard to get anything done when the weather turns sour.

It's been nothing but rain here as well, we still work on the pond but obviously the progress is much slower.
This weekend we had to remove all the stones to further stretch the liner but rain and all we managed to put the stones back in place, and start laying stones in the upper pool. The waterfall box is all hooked up and ready to go, we are hoping to get the skimmer box set this evening, after that we just need to finish setting the stones, cut the excess liner, hose off everything and drain the dirty water and hopefully if we pray hard enough, we'll have a couple of dry days in the forecast to finally fill this pond

Filling day is finally here :D. As far as building a pond goes, there is something special about filling it and running it for the first time. @Gemma just imagine, new fish.

I totally agree!
I wonder what the water is going to do, I hope the waterfall won't be too splashy. We couldn't build it the way we wanted, we would've lost too much plant space and the top pool would've looked like a very large fall, not the miniature pond with water Lily and plants that I want.

It is getting so green omg I can't stand it!....but I'm happy that the volume won't be too great for the 9200gph pump we bought,

Sitting here patiently waiting for the end results of the water total

It looks good w/all the water and rocks placed around it. Next Spring will be fun putting in all the plants. Did you say you were gonna put some fish in soon or wait till next year?

Thanks!
I'll definitely wait till Spring to move my fish from the other pond, but I might buy 2 or 3 new ones now because they are so much cheaper off season.

Wow, that is a lot of water, how many koi will you get? Congratulations on the the final stage on your pond build been completed, all that hard work, waiting patiently for the weather to clear, and now finally you can spend your free time looking at future pond fish. Enjoy :)

I need to take at least 5 0r six koi out of the other pond so I'm not going to buy a lot of new ones.
There is still a lot of work to be done, putting caps on, cleaning up around the pond and build the overflow, but I'm very pleased with it and the waterfall even though we don't have the room to do anything with it, we like it like this. Lol I forgot to post a picture.

Ok I'm posting a pic, keep in mind we're not done building and the piece over the spill is temporary (so is the muddy greenish I hope)

Wow, I love the upper pond. You both really did a fantastic job, I know picking out fish so hard there is so many to choose from, but it's so enjoyable letting them go in a new pond, I'm thinking of next spring all ready, and the one new fish I will be getting, hopefully a white or black butterfly koi. I wish I had another big pond.
