i should have added that my walls were reg 8" x 16" blocks
with no back fill to help support them , just a rock face

i have a 30" dry stacked rock wall thats been around along time it got no special treatment when i built it
it has a dirt bed on one side

Ohhh, you did a rock veneer too? That sounds really nice. I would love to see some pictures.

I dont have much experience at all with cinder blocks, but based on general knowledge, to me, it sounds like you did the right thing. Doing something right the first time is never over kill
