I looked into the catfish you mentioned, but they all require temperatures of 10c or more.
My pond temperature is below 10c for at least 7 months of the year.

Well that obviously incorrect info. We have all those fish in some farm ponds around here and I know for a fact the water temps go below 40 deg f which is less then 5 deg c. Not to mention my direct experience speaks otherwise as my pond goes below 40 deg f in the winter quite alot. I had that cat for 5 years like that,.y neighbors all have one or 2 in there smaller garden ponds as well.

Channel catfish tolerate a wide range of environmental conditions. The optimum water temperature for growth is 75 to 85º F, but fish can survive at temperatures from just above freezing to nearly 100º F. Growth is slow at temperatures less than 65º F and feeding activity essentially stops at temperatures below about 50º F. The maximum water temperature at which channel catfish can survive indefinitely is about 95º F and fish survive only briefly at temperatures above 100º F.

I saw breeding temperatures of 27c , so maybe they can survive lower temperatures, but our temperatures can't maintain their populations.
Regardless, I've never seen them for sale around here.

Even the information on the Black Bullhead is a bit misleading then:
(wikipedia)
:They are very tolerant fish, and are able to live in muddy water, with warmer temperatures and in water with lower levels of oxygen, which reduce competition from other fish.[4]"

That's the thing about catfish they can and do live in some very awful water. Given the choice they go for the good environment if available. Some of the biggest channel cats I've ever caught were in clean faster moving parts of rivers. They are listed as scavengers as well but some of the best bait for big cats is live bait.

Ok I think I will save this for a later time. Now that I know this information.

What I did instead is went to lowes and got some old whiskey barrels and I will put some plants in there and fill it with water and maybe put some mollies/guppies.
I had guppies and mollies in my pond (with my goldfish) in summer. They breed like crazy!!!! I put in 2 and ended up with 100+ at the end of summer. Some how the goldfish never eat the babies :( Just make sure you only put only the same sex fish in there or you will have to re-home them soon enough :)

Also if your weather go below freezing, move them indoors. They actually can live in a cold water for a while.. i didnt have to move them until the water temp drops to around 55F in late fall.
