It is like she is looking for confirmation that it is ok what she is doing, but that does not mean she listens real well. She gets her mind on something she wants to do and she does it! Esp hunting, she sticks her nose in every hole in the snow smelling to see what critter passed by.

wouldn't she be surprised if something hopped out at her.I had 3 female dogs in my life and none of them ever listened well ,now the boy dogs always listened and guessing it was because they thought they had to protect me .The females where very independent

I had 5 yorkies at one time, 3 females, two males, the males no problem, two of the females, both alpha pups, constant battle to be top dog, pig headed. The third, very timid, easy to care for.
Only one of the boys was raised from a puppy the rest were saved pups.

This new missy is slowly learning I am top puppy lol

I think every dog I have owned has been a female, except the males that have been dumped here. I did keep a Boston male pup, but he died before he was a year old. Females are typically alpha with most breeds. People think since males are typically larger (lions, stallions, etc.) they are the boss, but they are not. Females are the ones that make the decisions - to move the herd, to breed, etc. They rule! A female tends to be more protective of her yard than a neutered male, too. But, I love them all, as do the rest of you. :blueflower:

Terrible out there today! We did get lucky though. They're getting 8" just north of here. This stuff is heavy & wet so 3"-5" will be much better than 8"

We are getting rain rain rain, temp went from 69 this am to 63 right now. The fish are all out swimming around snacking on plants.

We are supposed to hit 70 today, will see, 59 tomorrow, 37 the next day.

Wet and heavy is tough, the last few snows here have been light and fluffy until it sleeted and covered that light fluffy snow with ice.

Pretty sure all my wells (I have 3 on my property) are full after the snow and then rains this weekend. Had rain gauge back out to measure it ... 2.6" total. :blueflower: Ditches looked like flowing rivers, but all back to pretty much normal again already.
JB, loved your photos! First one looked like someone made two hearts in your driveway. And, my windmill has not stopped spinning long enough for any snow to gather on it. My sisters are in Milwaukee/Pewaukee areas, guess their yards looked similar to yours. Very pretty!
