Where does your surname come from?

Got my country wrong we Marshalls are German originally still to do with horses though I'm totally right on that issue but I still think we came over with the french and their hoses in 1066 or so my Birth Brother tells me

Not been there for a while John in the late 70's was my last visit , its more than probably changed out of all recognition nowadays

My in laws combined their last name and created a new last name for their children... so my last name is one of a kind, only a few of us existed.
Bu for my maiden name.... I guess people with their own language and alphabet don't really have much in common with other countries, name wise

Moser [my maiden name] is German, specifically southern German.
