Hello, all!

Just came across this forum and decided to give it a go. I'm 61, semi-retired (i work at a garden center where I run the water garden section in the spring and early summer). I have one garden pond about 8' x 15' with goldfish and far too many plants. John

twenty paces with a dead gecko and a naked chicken ; I've thrown down the gauntlet, @GBBUDD !! @Jhn has volunteered to be my second...
How come you mention naked chickens and dead geckos, my name comes to mind?
Not saying I won’t do it, but I prefer my chickens in a tie, dress shirt and no pants, and my geckos alive but naked…..Also, if I am your second I will be dressed like the chickens…..just how I roll

you know you're upseting GB's roll, right? Ain't MY thang, this 'dead gecko' stuff...sumthin the Big Man claims the PREZ said. When I learned that, a 'naked chicken' just seem apt, ya know?

Anyway, you're my second should any excuse thing befall me and I have to bow out (like the fridge is empty and I need to make a run). Remember; he ain't going nowhere ifn there's stingers on the road ahead of him. Pick some up at the hardware store before you get there, hey?

And don't take no crap about rainbows and gophers...

Now, back to baiting the GB trap...:D

How's the pond going, @Jhn ? Got your lil DBTs inside yet? All my painteds have been in for a month (didn't know we'd still have summer through Oct this year!)

If you bow out, then it’s maximum effort, tie and dress shirt come off, only one way to go when it’s go time.

Pond is doing good, bogs are jungles at the moment especially the newer one, taros and cannas grew like crazy…….have 2 of the ornate dbt’s, inside as they are from the southern u.s. and I am not sure about them wintering over here. The other northerns dbt’s have already disappeared for the fall. Although they will probably come back out for a sunbath if we get a warm day.

Try building a plastic tee pee over them just keeping the frost off them can often give the little extra to make the winter

No problem--ya gots to do what ya gots to do; I'll inform GB!

At what age do you let the dbt youngins overwinter outside, and what is the reasoning? I know I take mine in now as Marshall suggested this when I was losing some over winter. Felt bad and figured I was doing something wrong. They're all small (though now, growing, probably 5" for the 3 males and one 4" female) and he figured it was safer. I'm wondering at what age/size I'll let them stay, esp now that I have more structures on the bottom to help brumation.

Today I got to get down to my turned off external pump, freeze is coming, tonight. Need to unhook pipes drain the pump.

Got our Moderna booster yesterday, only 1/2 the first dose, no issues! yippee, the second Moderna hit me pretty hard. I was worried.
