Yup - the theory is the bones are misaligned which is pushing that bony part outward. Then it presses and rubs on your shoe and gets inflamed and sore. So when you put the bones back into alignment the bony part is able to slide back in under the toe where it belongs. I would have thought it was hogwash if my podiatrist hadn't been the one to suggest it. She said bunion surgery is painful and the recovery is long - and it doesn't always have great results.
