Snow storm appears to be shifting much further south than expected, which is good news for me. Maybe only a couple inches expected here now.

Not only has it shifted even further south, but now even Chicago isn't expecting more than a couple inches.
We're expecting nothing here.

There's been a serious trend this winter of storms that turned out to be duds in this area. They either shift away, fall apart, or it stays too warm and ends up being rain.

Too early to open the pond? We've had such a mild winter in Maryland. I was thinking about opening the pond next week and getting the water flowing again. Anyone else?

Warming up here in the 40's already and not even 7am yet. Some clouds and sun predicted too. Just thankful for no rain for a minute anyways!

I haven't shut mine down yet! I'm in St. Mary's county. Never put my heaters in and filters still running!

I am going to turn mine on next week. I have such a huge surface area with the bog I try to let the temperatures climb some. It can chill the pond water really fast. My pond is sitting at 42 right now

I LET THE two small pumps run the 3000 gph shouldn't chill the pond that fast and the fish were out all day so it looks good they seem to like the water being crystal clear again the water was looking a bit thick and the blubber was having bubbles stick around for a minute as the water was not quite its best

When our temperatures start to drop, a good cold night will bring the temperature of the pond right down. The surface area of the bog is between 1/3 to 1/2 the surface area of the pond.

45f and feels damp and chilly. A few sprinkles on my bike ride. Rabbits, squirrels, frogs and deer are coming out of their hidey holes of winter.

Dropped to below freezing when I left for work this morning but has turned into a nice clear sunny day
Hoping the signs of spring will start to show soon
